    Re: Excursion or not?

This will be our 2nd time there so we are going on our own.  But on our 1st it was a "must do" for me..to swim with the dolphins....and I knew right away that is what we were going to do...Hope this helps some. Wink  Yes

We did the dolphin swim and snorkel last October and booked thru Carnival.  For the $165 per person is sure was woth it.  It was truly an adventure of a lifetime and one that we will never forget.  I believe it's the dolphin swim and ride now.  But we had a small group of 9 and a lot of interaction with our dolphin.  The dolphin ride was amazing.  We also have it on a DVD that we purchased which is wonderful to share with family and friends.  Not too mention how many times we have watched it.  Ours was at Chankanaab Park at Dolphin Discovery.  The facilities, trainers, and staff there were all excellent.  It is more money than the Dolphin Encounter but if I were to do it again I would do this one without a doubt.

    Re: Excursion or not?

If I remember right the pic's amd the DVD we bought in a package deal was about $100.00.  What was a nice surprise was that after the dolphin swim and snorkel excursion we were all brought into a viewing room so we could watch the DVD before anyone purchased it.  We had no idea they did this.  The pic's are 8 1/2 x 6 inches and we bought 4 with the DVD.  They offer different package deals or I think the DVD alone was about $49.00.  Not sure but sounds like that may be about the right price.  No high pressure sales either.

I really don't think you would regret this excursion either.  Our daughter and son-in-law were with us and up until the last minute our daughter still could not decide on an excursion. She kept asking me for advice and I told her I really think the dolphin swim and snokel was a good one even tho the cost was kinda high for them.  I also told her it was up to her as this is what "We were going to do" and if you don't want to then do whatever you 2 want to do...LOL  One of those times "Mom was right."  We got the DVD copied at home so they could have the DVD too.  Now that did take some doing...LOL

Just have a Great time and a wonderful 1st cruise.  Drinks  We are looking forward to our 2nd one coming up real soon.

    Re: Excursion or not?

    cruiser76,

You are so very welcome and glad I could help. This should make for a "wonderful honeymoon" for you and your wife!! Paradise  We were docked in Cozumel for 10 hours on our 1st cruise too.  That still gave us time to do some shopping and our daughter and son-in-law had alot of energy and they also did had time for a lot of sightseeing...LOL  Mom and Dad were kinda tired..LOL  So you and your wife should still have time to do other things too.  In fact, this was our daughter and son-in-law's 2nd cruise as their 1st was a honeymoon cruise!!

You will have a blast!!! Cool
