    Re: Ecstasy propulsion problems????

SeaUonboard I posted that along with the fact that the ship did not have problems and was going fast and got to Galveston on time. I have the right to put it out that you should watch what you eat on the Lido deck. I only ate on that deck with my family once or twice. I really love sit down dinning. I love having my food served and not standing in long lines. Thanks for the link  will now file a written one. I have read a lot of your post and you also talk about other things in your post not just the things people are  referring too. I have never post to you about any of your post . So please give me the respect that I have given you. So now I will pray the you or your love ones don't end up the one to get raw chicken. Iwill never try and tell you what to post and how to post it.Once again thanks for the link. To everyone on the cruise stay on top and please over look some of the post when people try to get smart with others. This link some time can get out of hand with name calling and smart remarks. I have enjoyed the link ,and hope we will all respect each others post, even if you wish to add something besides what is being talked about . Take care fellow 8-14 cruisers, and maybe Carnival will try and sort this all out and do better the next time.  Mimi

Ok - but I wasn't even addressing the food issue until my last post and "I" agreed with you.  I NEVER called anyone out and don't really know why you are calling me out - but I will overlook that as I understand you are upset.  I also understand that it is difficult to know the true gist of anyones post as words typed on a message board sometimes don't reflect the emotions intended.  I in no way was disrespecting your views and NEVER pointing to any individual.  I don't doubt anything that anyone posted that was on the cruise and in no way meant any disrepect to anyone and if you took it that way I appologize,  The only issue I was addressing was those folks that said they didn't like the fact that they went to Progreso instead of Cozumel and only got $25 for the disappointment.    I was ONLY trying to help - just tried to give facts.  Sorry if that was taken any other way.

    Have a great day.

    Hope 2 Sea U Onboard - Cheryl

I just happen to stumble across this discussion I don’t usually comment although I enjoy the dialog. I am about to embark on my first cruise and I did my home work before I entered in this agreement with Carnival I made several phone calls to my Travel agent and I was fully aware before I paid a dime that the cruise could have a change of venue also a chance of cancellation for some unforeseen situation and I could get food poison eating at any restaurant on the way down or on the trip. That is life for example on my 25th wedding anniversary two years ago I had these great plans for a special time but 2 months before I was involved in a serious accident and my wife spent it taking care of me nursing me back to health. If I go to Progresso never make it to Cozumel that’s all right old Mexico here I come.  They do have Travel insurance that does cover many of unforeseen losses that may occur in our life of no Guarantees. If the staff on the Ship is as polite and informative as the Carnival personal vacation planner was then I should be alright.  Then I can Switch my user name from 1st cruise to cruising again.

My family and I loved Progreso......It was away from the hustle and bustle.... Relaxing.....Service was great and the people there are sooooo friendly and Happy.  We also liked Cozumel , but it was commercialized  and well Progresso is just a sleepy little fishing village type of place.  Which I LOVE.    Also the pricess in Progresso were cheaper.  I loved the seranade and the massages on the beach.  I also enjoyed my encounter with Edward the Poet...  I have a pic of him.......He was so cute and FUNNY.It was a story I brought home to share with everyone.....I hope I see him again this cruise on the 15th.....Big Smile

Sorry if I wasn't "On Topic"  just wanted to share.

We always pray before we book our cruise on a date.  Then the entire time we Patiently wait for our cruise we pray for weather, the captain, ports, steward, waiter, ect.  We wait for our cruise....and we book the VIP suite so we want so much with our whole heart for our cruise to be fantastic and well it was last year.  God is Faithful and He will work out all for everyone.   Love to ALL

Cheryl - In view of all the posts/complaints on the Ecstasy concerns that we've seen, I think you should accept the assignment as our unbiased, investigative reporter to report on same when you return from your September cruise (wherever your ports turn out to be) ????  ken

    Re: Ecstasy propulsion problems????

We just arrived home today from the Ecstasy 5 day cruise.  No propulsion problems, we made it to Progresso and Cozumel.

I loved Progresso, very quiet, very nice, sincere people. No one grabbing me trying to shove jewelry on my hand and leading me to the back of very narrow stores.  I did not do well with shopping in Cozumel, however, the snorkeling was fun and the water is amazing.  Actually I liked the contrast between Progresso and Cozumel.  My husband and I would like to go back to Progresso for a week or two just to relax and enjoy the small, quiet town.

This was our second cruise.  The quality of the food was not what it was several years ago, but it was not bad.  My 11 year old daughter had a blast.  The staff was very friendly.

My major complaint was the large amount of unsupervised children who were allowed to run all over the ship.  The parents are more to blame, in my mind, than the staff.  However, when stairways are blocked by groups of kids sitting on them, the staff should get them to move.  Getting on an elevator was a nightmare as you would find 4 - 6 kids sitting on the floor, having pushed every button so it would stop at every floor.  It was a nightmare.  But worse than my annoyance with the inconvenience and rudeness of many of these kids, I could not believe that young girls 9 -10 years old were allowed to sit in elevators for hours unsupervised.  Think about it a cruise ship is a huge hotel with tons of rooms, one of these young girls could have easily been pulled into a room and hurt.  And then the parents would blame Carnival.

As a passenger who paid a good deal of money to cruise, I did expect the staff to make more of an effort to control or at least move these kids along.  It is obvious most of the parents were not doing their job.  More later, I am tired.

We just went to the public beach.  After you walk throught he market the streets lead you right down to the public beach.... There were people giving massages, jet ski rental ,  boat rentals,  restaurants serving you on the beach.   Great!!!!!   Oh there was also live music......I love the sound of the culture......Looking forward to our cruise there in 20 days......Party!!!

Thank you for the info. I guess there is no charge, since this is a public beach? Do you remember how much the jet ski rentals were and if they provided life jackets or anything else about the cost? Thanks, Jen

    Re: Ecstasy propulsion problems????

No the beach was free and i think the jet ski was 20.00.  Yes they did have life jackets.and they did not charge extra...My husband said you could see all the way to the bottom of the ocean.  I myself don't like the saltwater. I don't want anything touching me...Fish, crab, ect.... Just freaks me out.....So i just lay on the beach HAHA

The massages were 20.00 for 45 min.  And my family of 5 ate for about 30.00....But we had 2 margaritas.....Yum Yum

Great thanks for the info, I think we are going to do this instead of an excursion.
