Better time to go on criuse - Feb or March?

My husband and I have been on cruises before with Carnival, now we are wanting to take 2 friends along. We are either thinking of leaving from Jacksonville or Port Canaveral and going to Key West and Bahamas or just Bahamas. Which would be the better month to go?

I would say Feb. because so many of the spring breaks are in March.

Late April or early May would work. My first cruise was early May and there were not that may kids on board. But it just depends on what type of crowd you want to be with.. kids, college students ..etc. I like to check the ports that the ship stops at and then start looking for the lowest price. That will be the 'off season'. :) Have a great time!

janda - February is nice because the weather is a little cooler for shore excursions and you shouldn't have any Spring Breakers that will start appearing March/April. ken

As the other posters said, it depends on what kind of atmosphere you are looking for on board.

Easter is not until April 12, 2009 which means you will have Spring Breakers, throughout March and possibly the first part of April. K-12 schools will also be taking breaks around April 12.  Which means you will usually see more families on board.

We went on a cruise at the end of March to the Bahamas and if you plan on going to the beach, the water will be pretty cool.  We could only wade in the water, but the air temperature was beautiful!  Nice for walking around and shopping.  Have fun planning!
