Due to the cost factor, we are flying into FLL for our cruise out of Miami.  We will be coming in a day early and looking for a hotel in the Miami area that will pick us up at the FLL airport and take us to the Port of Miami the next morning.  There may be no such hotel and I may be dreaming (hoping) that one exists to make the trip easier and less costly for my famliy.  Does anyone know of any hotel that does this in the Miami area?  Thanks.

I don't know of any hotel in Miami that does that.  With gas prices it seems its even getting harder to find a hotel that offers free shuttles to/from local airports.  I'm interested to see if anyone knows of one that would offer transportation from FLL to Miami also.  We are also flying into FLL a day early but we are staying in Ft.Lauderdale overnight and then returning to the airport in the morning for the Carnival shuttle to Miami.  

There are a few hotels that offer transfers to the port - the problem is they leave the hotel when they want to - some as late as 2:00.  Most of the hotels east of the airport offer a shuttle for free and some for a few bucks - but before you decide call them and ask what time the shuttle leaves

FYI - when you return the car at the carport, all the rent a car companies offer shuttle service to the port as well - you have a choice to go to the airport or port.  This is what we always do - saves a ton of money

They will pick you up at the airport and then take you to the cruise port the next day, you will be on your own when you get back though.

Thank you very much for the rental car information.  It looks like a great deal for the four in my family that are going on the cruise versus paying for the transfers. 

I figured I would take a shot to see if anyone know of any hotels that would shuttle us from FLL to Miami but I knew it was not very likely.

Oh heck yeah!  This is a great idea! I will be cruising on 9/27/08.  I also am flying in to FLL (much cheaper) and cruising out of the Miami port.  The car rental prices are MUCH cheaper than doing the shuttle.  Plus, we will have the luxury of going when we want to go and not when the shuttle tells us to go!  Excellent!  Thanks for the tip!

for transfer. it is $70.00 round trip p/p and that includes a tip. well worth the money because they pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the port. not hassle with car rental and parking, etc. And no driving in Miami.
