Roll Call for March 14, 2009

    Hi All,

Just checking to see if our family and a family in Kansas are the only ones on the ship this trip!

No this is our first cruise, so can't wait to see what it will be like.  The thought of having someone else "drive" to a destination is nice, you can relax and have fun on the way.

    Hello,

My husband and I will be on this cruise, I am celebrating the " BIG 50".  We will be flying in (from NJ) the night of the 12th to Fort Lauderdale, my son lives there and we are going to spend some time with him before he takes us to the port of Miami on the 14th.  When we return on the 21st. we are going to rent a car and drive to Orlando to spend a couple of days with the other son and grandchildren,  may as well take advantage of three vacations and only one flight.

    Hi All,

We are getting excited as well, it sounds like alotof us are coming from cold areas and what a great way to beat the winter blues and body aches!  Picked up a couple of things nothing major yet.  I think that there are 2 formal dinners, but I think we will do one and then my husband and I will have a date night.  Our kids are 21,17&16 so they can survive a night, heck they will probably ditch us once we set sail LOL.  I have read tons of suggestions for cruising from bringing duct tape to keep the closet and drawers from banging if there are heavy waves to sticking with the cruise excursions vs doing it on our own.  Hopefully at some point we can all meet up just to see how we are enjoying our vacations!

Roll Call for March 14, 2009

    Hi there,

We booked this cruise a few weeks ago, but just finalized our flights from Detroit today!!  Whoo Hoo!

We are 3 families (5 adults and 5 teens ranging in age from 15-18) from Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

We have all sailed with Carnival before and know exactly how much fun we are going to have!  Especially the teens!

We are flying into Miami late on March 12th.  Still looking for a good deal on a hotel for 2 nights.  If you know of any, please share.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks!!!  Or, happy weekend to my fellow USA travellers!

    Hi There,

Sounds like you will have quite a group.  We booked our cruise around our sons hockey season, any one in your group hockey players or fans?

Yes, we are hockey fans!!  Not sure where you are from, but I am a huge Toronto Maple Leaf fan......sad they lost their home opener tonight!

Two of the teen girls are first year Midget hockey players.  They are in grade 10.  Not sure if it is the same in the US.  They've played hockey for years.  One plays defence and the other is centre/left wing.  The three other teens (2 boys and 1 girl) all used to play hockey at one time or another, but no longer do.

We also plan much of our "lives" around hockey season as well.....so I hear you loud and clear!

    Have a great weekend!
