    I lost My Camera!!

I just got back from a Cruise; Carnival Sensation to Bahamas 07/17/08 - 07/20/08 leaving from Cape Canaveral, FL.  I had a WONDERFUL experience.  The service is GREAT and I would do it again.

But I lost my digital camera along with ALL the digital photos!  Sad

I asked numerous times at the information desk but no luck!!  I called Carnival and made a claim.... still waiting!

If anyone found a camera during these days PLEASE PLEASE let me know and I'll tell you the description.   I just want the memory card and you can keep the CAMERA.  These photos are very important to me.

Ironically, I found a digital camera the day before I lost mine, and I returned it directly to the owner.   I happened to be looking at the photos and match the face with the person.

    Thank you.  Cynthia

Thank you so much Barb - Carnival told me to wait at least a week to follow-up again with the claim entered.   I'll keep you posted

    Re: I lost My Camera!!

    Hi Cynthia,

I'm so sorry you lost your camera.  I just lost mine recently.  Although it did not have cruise photos, it did have my parents' recent visit from April.  I am thankful that the images remain vividly in my head at least.  I hope you find your camera!!

If you would, can you please answer these questions for me.  We are likely "booking" tomorrow, and I'd feel better w/ a bit more info.  Did they charge for water and cokes on the boat?? How much?  Also heard they charge for lost pool towels.....?

We cruised 12 years ago and I CANNOT BELIEVE it has been so long.  Can't wait to go again, but don't want to be "sticker shocked" with new procedures.  Thanks for your time, and good luck w/ the camera!!

Hi Again also, in response to the posters who said that Carnival, is more for the buck than the Welcome aboard! Well it is a Buisness! I last cruised in June of 2007! they do charge you if you lose the towels they provide you! They tell you this from the beginning of the cruise and maybe even on their web site! Also YES, the drinks in the room are charged to you, and there is a charge for bottled water! But they make no secret of it! I knew this when I first entered my room in June 2007, and I was a First Time Cruiser! All the juice, tea, regular type coffee is Free! Most ships have a Premium Coffee shop, Like Starbucks, There is a charge for that! But at the Buffett, Water is good and Juice, Ice Tea and fruit punches were free! You can also bring small amounts or water or soft drinks on board with you! I have heard any where from 6 to 12 Bottles or cans! I personaly Bought coke at our first port, Key West, and brought back on board! I only brought 3 bottles back with me! But it is not like Carnival, is trying to make you buy it from them, but with the cost of everything going up they have to make it up somewhere! My wife and I had a great cruise, didn't feel like we were being takin' advantage of! Just thought I would let ya know! Copied this from my earlier post on your other post about the Sensation! Take Care have a Great Cruise!

    Hello TJM.

No charges for water, ice tea, lemonade, rasberry drinks, orange juice.  They do charge for coke drinks.  They offered FREE coke drinks on the night of the Captain.  Before the formal dinner there was a show to introduce the Captain and they offered free drinks and free liquor.  Take advantage of that night!!   BeerBeer  DrinksDrinks

Towels:  make sure you replace the same amount of pool towels you found in your state room before you disembark the ship from your vacation/the night before.  If you dont want to walk back to your room with a wet towel, you can find dry pool towels by the pool and bring them to your room.

Next time I'll go on a cruise... I will replace the memory card from the digital camera every night.  At least if I loose the camera again, i have the photos from the previous day save in the room.  I'll have to buy 3 memory cards.  its worth it!

    HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP.Smile

    TMJ

The drinks in your room (soda and water) are not free!  They will charge you if you drink them.  I generally put them in the closet (I need the dresser space) and tell the room steward that I don't want them on the dresser (they will replace them).  It is not a problem.  If you are a "soda nut" buy the soda car, I think it is $29 a card, kid prices are $10 less.  All you do is show your card and they bring you the soda of your choice.  I did find that if you don't want to buy a card using the Crystal Light in the water makes a difference.  Easy to pack (put a bunch in a ziploc baggie) and they are not as cumbersome as bringing different flavored drinks in your luggage.

What cruise are you going on?  I am cruising our on the Sensation in October.  Did the same ship and cruise 2 years ago, it was great then and I can't wait to go again.  Just returned in April and going again...I can hardly believe it!

    Re: I lost My Camera!!

Just got back this morning, had a wonderful time.  Guess what, when we were in the terminal getting ready to board the ship on the chairs someone had left a camera/video bag.  I asked if anyone had left it and someone said it had been there a while.  I took it to the checkin desk, hoping that the owner would go there looking for it and possibly if not claimed they would give to the boat.

I'm hoping that was the best way to handle it.  A suggestion for others is to make sure your camera/video bag has your name etc in it and on it.  I don't know if it did  but I hope it got back to it's owner ok.

The cruise was very smooth and fun.
