Linda, when I booked my April 17, 2010 cruise last week, there were no Past Guest rates, b/c this will be my 4th Carnival cruise.  My PVP told me to email or call him back this coming April.  But right now is the cheapes it will be!~

Hi Sea Chell, I'm also booked on April 17 on the Spa Deck.  I figured a new ship, new spa staterooms and it comes with 'perks' so I'm treating myself this trip.

Gosh I can't wait another 19 months.   I wish they'd give us a bit more information on this ship or at least more artist conceptions than the six we have been looking at since July 1st...lol

We (DW and our 2 boys) are talking about going on a cruise in Feb 2010 with my sister and her hubby. Eastern.  We really want to hit Atlantis in Nassau.  Sis and hubby have already been to St Maarten and highly recommend the Americas cup regatta.  Bottomline, sounds like awesome excursions without skimping on the fun days at sea.

Fishing Can I and my DH are booked on Dream Jan 30 2010 Easter Carribean.  We will hit Nassau on this trip also.  Have never done Atlantis but hear it is great.  Might try that this time.  Happy Sailing

We are booked for the DREAM Oct 27, 2009  16 day Trans-Atlantic. So excited!! Does anyone have  pointers we need to know about for the port in Civitavecchia? The ship leaves at 7:00 in the evening. If we arrive that morning, would we have time to tour Rome? Our PVP said it was about a 45 min. taxi ride, not counting traffic, which I heard was a mess. Not sure, though?? If we arrive the day before, any opinions on a Hotel??  Any info would help!!

    THANKS!!

Re: Booked on Dream yet for 2010???

    Hello,

We were on the Freedom in May and traveled from civitavecchia to Rome on the train.  It was very easy and about a 45min ride.  You can get off at a stop close to the Vatican.  You will have to be back on the ship an hour before it sails.  There is a bus that will take you from the ship to the outside of the port and then it is a 10 min walk to the train.  Buy a round trip ticket for under 6euros.  Don't worry about speaking Italian.  They will understand what you want at the train station.

There is a subway that is very easy to use in Rome.  It goes in two

directions and gets you close to the stops.  You can take it from the Vatican to the Forum, the colleseum is right accross the street.

Just remember to get yourself back in time for the ship.  I would leave Rome at 4 the latest.  It gets very busy on the train after 5.

Will you be able to leave your luggage at the port early?

How did you put your picture in the post?

You might want to look at cruise Critic and see if there is a Roll call for your sailing.  You can get lots of helpful hints and may be able to share a private tour.  That saves money and you see quite a bit.  We had four private tours with a group we met on CC and it saved us a lot.

readboat--THANK YOU!!Big Smile That is great info about the train! We have not recieved our flight plans yet, so we don't know if we fly in the day before or the day of sailing. My PVP told us that if we arrived the day of sailing we could drop our luggage off at pier and then go into Rome. Does this sound legit to any of you? Another question, our transfer's are included with trip, does this mean ONLY from Airport to Pier and not ANY other place? New to this so I'm learning as I go! Thanks for ALL info!

Re: Booked on Dream yet for 2010???

The transfers will take you to the port only.  I don't see any problem leaving your luggage at the Carnival port office.  As long as you have the Carnival tags on them with your room number they will be fine.  check in goes very fast but you don't have to check in to leave your luggage.

Carnival does offer a Rome tour from the airport.  I don't know the price or what is offered.  If it is just a ride throught Rome you don't want to do that.   You need to walk Roma to appreciate it.

    I figured out the picture!

This is exciting!  I can't wait to get on the new ship.  We will be on in January.  If you see the prices drop let us know .  Carnival has a sale this week for 2009 sailing.  I would think next Novermber they will have one for 2010 and we can pick up some OBC.
