my3boys4 I'd like to respond to countermom's critique of the Triumph. I wasn't on board and I don't question that those things happened. But I'm amazed how 10 people can review the same cruise, and you'll get everything from a 1 to 10 star rating.
My wife and I have been on 15 cruises and we're currently booked on the Triumph for the third time for a 9/7 cruise.
After 15 cruises I have a pretty good feel about the good, bad, and ugly.
First of all, there's not a ship ever built that won't list when hit by a 60 mph squall. countermom didn't say how high the waves were but when the seas get swells of 5-8 ft you're going to experience some rocking even when the stabilizers work. There's anti-seasick patches you can put on before you board and ther's meds in the infirmary and in most bars.
As far as the food is concerned, yes the lines can get long but if you're smart it's not a problem. All you have to do is avoid the peak times--same thing when you go to a restaurant at home. If you go at peak times you're going to be put on the waiting list no matter where you're at.
Maybe there was some damage to the plate inventory--but in the long run who cares what kind of dish your food is served on some people just love to complain.
My wife and I have found the food to be very good and we've eaten in gourment restaurants around the world. Now if you want to get 6-star food you can get it at twice the price you paid for the Triumph. And here's a tip. If want ot eat during the peak times, go to the main dinning room for breakfast or lunch. You'll be seated immediatly and the menu is more extensive than the buffet.
I think your fears are unfounded. Post if you have any questions.
I also intend to write an extensive review when I get back that you'll be able to read.
till then,
Happy cruising my3boys4
