I would like to know how far is the shopping areas from where the ship dock. Will we be able to walk or do we have to take a taxi? Any assistance will be helpful.

We took a taxi to town....it was a nice little distance...get them to drop you by the post office and you will be close to most everything....the straw market is also close to there.  If I remember correctly, it was $4 per person for the ride.

Not sure if you're planning a full shopping day or just a little bit, but there's a decent amount of shopping right there at the pier.  Then, when you're done go put your stuff back on the ship and go hit the beach or ride the skyride to Paradise Point.
