    Past cruise cocktail party

I'm cruising with a buddy of mine who has a past cruise #.  I heard there is ussually a cocktail hour that you are invited to if your a past guest. Does anyone know if he would be the only one invited, or would I get to go to?  Thanks.

    6 nights 7 days.  Liberty...

He'd be the only one of the two of you invited, but he could take anyone he wants.

    Stay on his good side!

Yes, he'll be the only one to get an invitation and pin.  Now, I've heard that sometimes guests are allowed in, but I guess you'd just have to go to find out.  Of course, you don't mention how long a cruise you're going on - be aware that the past guest parties are only on 5 night or longer cruises.  Enjoy!

So as long as he doesn't meet a girl between first day of cruise, and formal night, I get free drinks for an hour... Not a bad deal.... Thanks 4 the heads up.

If you're picky about your drinks, then it might not be a great deal.  I'm a red wine guy and my wife is a frozen rum-n-strawberry girl.  She's completely s.o.l., and I have to catch the drink tray before it gets too far out the kitchen door.  They only make a few kinds of free drinks, and they're all small.

Let's see if I can remember what's on the trays... red wine [probably merlot - eh], champagne or asti, a white wine [chardonnay, double-blah], a whiskey sour, perhaps?, and a few other things I don't recognize.  Others will probably know.

Unless you get there real early, you can't catch any of the horse doover trays that haven't been mercilessly picked over; I honestly can't tell you what food they serve.  I've never seen any of it.

I also can't tell you what kind of entertainment they have -- nondescript to say the least.  We've always spent most of our time trying to find a place to sit and order my wife a frozen rum-n-strawberry something.  And then it's over.

But it's an experience, and if you're into collecting experiences, this is one.

The "entertainment" is a film of Carnival's history..shows their older ships, current ships and whats coming in the future. Kind of neat  because people cheer when they see a ship that they have been on when shown on the film. The whole party lasts about 30-45 minutes or so and you get your ship pins.  I would recommend getting there early or right on time to enjoy it all.

Secret: A few bucks to the first server that comes your way will get you any drink you want...just ask, even beer.. and they keep coming. This also works at the captains cocktail party. ;)

WE slip the waitress a $2.00 bill tip and we got any drink we asked for during the Cap. Cocktail party.  A $2.00 tip goes along way with the waiters, cabin stewards(for thing like keeping my soft sided cooler full each day). Up on deck you have a group together having fun, a $2.00 tip keeps a good waiter making sure you never run out of drinks. I go to Bank of America and order 100 - $2.00 bills before every cruise.  I use them in resturants, air port luggage handles, port luggage handles, cabs etc, etc, etc,.. Lew

Good idea on the $2 bills... My experience with these, is that people think of the tip a lot more then $2 because people like getting the bills... Thanks I think I'll definitely do that...
