Hey all,

 My girlfriend and I are going on the southbound Alaska cruise June 11, 2008 on Carnival Spirit.  This will be the first cruise for both of us.  We have at least one thing booked at every port but were wondering if there were any other cruisers around our age that might want to get together on board.  She is 24 and I'm 26.  We're both students (she's getting a masters in education after already getting a masters in analytical chem and I'm getting a PhD in mechanical engineering).  See you all soon!

Hi Rich!  My husband and I are going on that cruise with some family.  It will be our fourth cruise, but my family's first.  We are all very excited, only 9 days left to wait! We have one or two things booked for each port, and I don't think we are ever going to be able to sleep because we'll be taking in as much as absolutely possible.  I am very excited to see whales, we are taking two whale watching tours (one says wildlife quest or something, but it's a whale tour) and i'm most excited for those.  also doing the train, horseback riding, zipline, and floatplane.  we are doing all those through carnival.  i also want to check out mendenhall glacier, looks like there's lots of public trails around it, so we'll probably do that on our own. 

 I see you are from Pittsburgh, that's where we are from too!  We are flying out the day before, maybe we'll see u on the plane!

We're definately not planning on getting any sleep either, no worries though, we'll sleep when we get home.  We also booked all our excursions through carnival and are going to the Silver Bay Cruise and Salmon Hatchery in Sitka, a helicopter flightseeing and glacier trek in Juneau, White Pass and Yukon Railway as well and the Gold Fever Adventure in in Skagway, and finally the Saxman Native Village and Lumberjack Show in Ketchikan.  None of them take all day so I'm sure we'll be doing some sightseeing on our own as well.  Should be a blast! 

We're actually flying out Wed morning at 6:15am (also booked by Carinval) and getting into Anchorage at 12:09.  If you have time though, I have a friend from HS that lives in Anchorage and she said that if we have time, the best place to go in Anchorage to eat is Humpy's, just ask any local and they'll know.  If you're looking for something to do we're in room 1208 on the ship.

Hi fellow Alaskaan cruisers!  My husband and I are sailing on the 11th as well!  Can not believe it is 6 days away!  We are from Chicago and are flying out Tuesday night.  Expecting to have a great time!  Hope to see you all on the boat!
