    Re: Room Question

I had a room under the Dining Room on the Fascination and her sister ship the Imagination and I've never heard any noise. I think you'll be fine. Enjoy your cruise!

If you want to split hairs, Carnival is now calling them "staterooms".  Although I know they didn't mean any harm (and it's really not that serious), if you fell you must unnecessarily critique someone, you should be correct.

That's OK.  I call hotel rooms cabins - my family thinks it hilarious. According to my hubby that means we've been on too many cruises - but my response is - no we just don't need to stay in hotels. :)

Right on. All vacations should be on a ship (not a boat) in a cabin or a stateroom not in a hotel room and you cabin should be on the port side (left) or Starboard side (right) or aft (fantail) or forward (Bow). It's a Fun Ship not a boat. A boat is something that can be lifted up and placed on a ship (like a lifeboat). Now lets all play nice and have fun on the "Fun Ship."  LOL   Lew - Proud Navy Veteran.

    Re: Room Question

I have never stayed in a stateroom above or below a dining room, but I would think that if there is any noise it would be when they are setting up for a meal, and then it would be very little.  And when they would be doing that, almost everyone would out and in a port or up on deck, etc, so they wouldn't in the stateroom to hear it.

    Re: Room Question

I've been in a room above the mess hall in the rear of the boat once; it was only noisy during early-seating dinner and, I imagine, late-seating as well.

[As an aside, I hope 4 incorrect nautical terms in one sentence is a local record.]

What's noisy is being directly above one of the bar/club areas, particularly when they're doing the karaoke things.  Those go on late [or early, depending on your bedtime], but you still get more noise from the hall and nearby toilet flushes than from the bars.

    Re: Room Question

I have booked an interior cabin and I am worried about not being able to wake up in the mornings becuase of the lack of natural light.  Do the interior rooms mess with your internal clock?

    Re: Room Question

    Hi Jennifer,

I wouldn't say they mess with your "internal" clock... you most likely with wake up around the same time you normally do. The thing it does mess with is when you do wake up, not knowing what time it is!! Because the interior rooms are dark and you don't have a window to see if the sun is up or not, that can play with you. You might want to pack a small travel size alarm clock to be safe if you have a hard time waking up.

    Happy Sailing!!

    Re: Room Question

We had  always had a suite in the past and an inside cabin for the first time last month ($4.40/gallon gas cuts deep into ye olde vacation budget) and we had no issue at all with the lack on natural light. Actually, I think I slept better LOL!!

Here is a suggestion someone else posted a while back:  Before you go to bed, turn the TV on to the channel that broadcasts the view from the front of the ship.  When the sun starts to come up in the morning, the light will slowly increase from the TV.  It's your own personal view of the morning sunrise!   Bon voyage!   :-)

    Re: Room Question

Yes, I have heard that suggestion before.  Do all of the ships have that channel?  We are cruising on the Elation.  Thank you everyone for your suggestions  :)
