I have a question regarding the sail time from L.A. to catalina. The distance is about 22 miles, the ship leaves @ 4:00 pm and you arrive at catalina @ 8am. Where does the ship go for that 16 hrs? Are you sitting out at sea, or at a port? It doesn't take 16 hrs to sail 22 miles. Just curious about it. Anybody know?

We went on the Paradise last month.  You will be sailing.  Not exactly sure where they sail to but they sail at a slow speed.  Didn't really notice because we went back into the ship to look around at everything once the ship left then it will be time to start getting ready for dinner.

When you wake up in the morning you will be docked off the shore of Catalina Island and the tenders start running about 8:00 to take you on to the island.

I would suggest getting up early and having breakfast and try to be off the ship between 8-8:30 am to avoid the lines waiting for the tenders.
