No shore excursions in Half Moon Cay

We booked our first cruise today for 11/1/08 (Nassau/Half Moon Cay).  When we went to try and book some of the shore excursions there were hardly any to pick from for Nassau, and none for Half Moon Cay!  Is there something that we are doing wrong?

Might be too far in advance.  I thought you could only book excursions at 120 days and forward...

There will be snorkeling and horse back riding by land and sea, maybe even parasailing. Half Moon Cay has one of the most beauitiul beaches in the world, you might want to do your shore excursions when you go to nassau. HAPPY SAILING!!!

There should be a page or so of excursions for Nassau. Half Moon Cay is Carnival's fun island like the other cruise lines have - they have beach, buffets and some equipment rentals for you to do - no town or taxi trips or Diamonds International or Senor Frogs.

I had the same problem.  I called Carnival's excursion number.  They told me that the reason I couldn't see it was because we are going on the Fascination (10-04) and since the ship was changing ports in September, they were not going to list HMC excursions until they were sure of the times.  I hope this helps!  I'm ready for them to list them, too.  She did tell me that they should be available sometime in August.

I am going to be on Destiny on Nov 17, 2008 and I was able to book my excursions for Half Moon Cay.  I am doing a nature walk and a glass bottom boat tour.  My island tour for Grand Turk was canceled by Carnival due to hurrican damage.

    Hope you have fun.

Half moon cay is not very large so I assume that is why there arent many excursions to choose from.  However, it is BEAUTIFUL, and as it is a carnival and holland america owned island, they set up a wonderful feast (free) for you to pick on all day right on the island, with huge grills, all types of salads and goodies and beverages, with tropical music playing (CD). The beach is so clean and white..fine as sugar, and the water turquois blue. You are only there half the day, so all hubby and I did was enjoy the beach, have an awesome tropical meal courtesy of carnival, and took a nice stroll down the paths near the beach while enjoying the flora and fauna. I dont know if they do this on all the cruises, but for your sake, I hope so!

Ive been to grand turk, and for me, it was a huge disappointment. Not much there.
