Re: Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau

    Hi Krista,

I just got back from cruising and took Gayle's advice.  It worked great.  We were in Nassau from 9-3.  So, I booked a room at the Comfort Suites and was told by them that I could do a pre-checkin starting at 9 and that would enable us to go over to the Atlantis and use their facilities.  We took a shuttle taxi over to Comfort Suites that was $4 per person each way...the driver paid the bridge fee.  We arrived at the Comfort Suites a little after 9.  During our registration, the reservationist asked us if we would like to Express Check Out which means that they would automatically check us out and we did not have to come back to the hotel (which is right next door and if you leave from the back entrance is only minutes away).  So of course we did.  They didn't care that we were from a cruise ship or that we weren't actually staying there.  I got a AAA rate of 223.00 for 4 people. With taxes and fees the total was $297.88.  Per person it was $75 for the hotel, plus the r/t taxi of $8...grand total of $83pp.  Definitely was worth it!

I had always wondered why people booked a hotel room that were on a cruise ship! Now I know why, great thread and advise. Thanks for sharingBig Smile

Hubby and I are cruising the week of Christmas.  No good rates that week..lol.  The best I found was the military rate of $250.00 for 2 people.  Not sure what we are going to do.  Also not sure about weather during that time and if it would be worth the risk.

F Y I - The only way Comfort Inn will make reservations is for a minimum of 2 nights...We were going to do the trip the way you did - book a room and enjoy the Atlantis - but now, Comfort Inn requires a 2 night minimum...bummer.....

Re: Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau

Hello, This will be our first cruise. We are going to the Bahamas in November and we have know idea where to go or what to do. I have read about renting a room at Comfort Suites and have full access to all the slides, etc. At the Atlantis Paridise Resort. But we have also read about Paradise Island All Inclusive day pass for $50.00 for adults and $35.00 for children.I know they are two different places. Could someone PLEASE tell us what are the differences between the two, like which would be more fun, is one more private than the other. Does one have more perks than the other. Please help us someone. There will 4 adults and a 4 year old. If anyone can help feel free to email me also if you like at andreaj2@aol.com

Re: Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau PRICE INFO

Hello: I will be happy to share the info I have.... The Comfort Suites does have priviledges at the Atlantis - all you do is rent a room at the Comfort Suites, and it includes (at no additional charge) 4 wristbands per room for entrance to the Atlantis. These wrist bands give you access to everything at the Atlantis - the only things you have to pay for are meals, snacks and any snorkeling equip, at the beach or lagoon. However, right now, the Comfort Suites is requiring a 2 night minimum - which does not help us - as we are just going to be there 24 hrs from the cruise ship. You can go directly to the Atlantis and purchase a Discover Atlantis 'Day Pass' which gives you the same access to everything on the Atlantis property - all you have to pay for is meals, snacks, snorkeling, equip, etc. The price is $105 Adults ages 12 and up / and $75 children ages 11 and under. The snorkeling equip rental is $18.... I also called the Paradise Island Harbour Resort - all inclusive - but they do NOT offer anything for entrance to the Atlantis. Hope this helps...

When you book this excursion thru Carnival, you will pay $50 xtra...

     hi,

great tip!  i am confused though.  we booked a room for 4 people and our rate is closer to 250.  we are cruising late september.

also, if we chose to stay overnight in hotel, will we be able to return to atlantis this next morning or is wrist band only good for one day?

Re: Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau

    Hi guys,

I "do my homework" on all of vacations. This was a great thread. I called the Comfort Suites # (you know an 800#) and they are ALOT cheaper than speaking directly to the CS on Paradise Island. I was told the wrist bands DOES include water park, etc. Everything, but extra excursions, casino, and alcohol...SO... I'll let you know when we get back. We don't sail until September. :(

Our deal.... $106.00 plus tax per room (we got 2) for 8 wrist bands. It comes to about $30 per person for Atlantis plus taxi fees. Also, got the AARP rate (my parents), but was told they use MANY discounts... just ask!

Great advice on getting a room at the Comfort Inn..Just one question though, does the price include activities like swimming with dolphins? The one I was going to purchase through carnival includes swimming with dolphins, but it's $215 per person, so I would like to see if I can get anything a little cheaper!

Re: Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau

No, I don't think it does. However, I would call and ask Comfort Suites (call CS on Paradise Island not the 800# for this) for info OR call Atlantis direct for pricing on the Dolphin Encounter. I believe they offer those to anyone whether you stay there or not.

We sail in Sept. and I'll try to report when I get back.... unless you sail sooner!

gaylebo35, I just noticed your cruise clock for the Elvis cruise. I am so jealous! My sister and I have been huge fans for a long time and just last month finally made the pilgrimage to Graceland. Spent 6 hours there. Our families thought we were cazy. We saw the advertisement for the cruise when we were there and sure wished we could have went on it. You will have to send a review when you get back.

Re: Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau

Hi and thank you for this great review. I am going solo for Christmas on the FASCINATION out of JAX. I am looking for the best deal forthe Nassau port. It was pitiful last year. Were you on a cruise? Why did you have to get a hotel room? I don't understand. Can't you just buy tickets to the water park somewhere? Thanks so much. I need more info...if you're willing. Robin

We're going in 11/09 and was prepared to purchase the excursion from Carnival. I'll keep checking this thread as it seems that things change (prices, # of nights stay etc)
