Bob that is the one thing I hate about vacation, it takes me a month to recuperate from the vacation but it is always worth it. I am so looking forward to meeting you and the others. Dell(Hubby) is getting excited and looking forward to meeting all our new friends. See you all in a couple of weeks.

I see the OV Cabins are sold out for our cruise. We booked a TBA OV. Would it hurt to ask if an upgrade is possible at check-in if the Balcony Cabins aren't sold out?Paradise

Re: Roll Call 10/19-10/26 VALOR, Eastern Caribbean

Ok I need advise...I booked this cruise through vacations to go, and I booked the cheapest cabin, Inside with upper and lower. However we were upgraded still inside, but it has two beds that convert to queen, so we don't have bunks....I just checked on vacations to go site and this cruise is now priced 329.00PP 70.00 less PP than what we paid just 6 weeks ago. Has anyone ever been able to get their travel agent (in this case vacations to go) give them OBC or at least a freaking bottle of wine or champagne? This cruise on the Valor is priced at 329.00 PP on vacations to go site all the way through the middle of Dec. I'm a little upset, that is 140.00 difference lots of on board drinks, LOL!  Any Advice, anyone ever get credit from a travel agent other than booking directly wit Carnival?

Nancy, I did the same thing. My travel agent told me that my cabin category was still at the same price. So I didn't follow up. Let me know what you find out.

well as far as price goes  and it does go up and down I paid $550. with taxes for my cabin x 2  and really its the cheapest  i paid in a long time for 7 days at sea. when things are selling  they go up when their not selling they go down. I dont doubt their will be some lucky older folks who were able to get on the boat at the last minute for $250. pp   but such is life what can you do?  This room has been so much fun to talk with my shipmates before hand . Are we all going to get together  for a drink on board ? If so let me know where and when,  See ya all in 11 days

Re: Roll Call 10/19-10/26 VALOR, Eastern Caribbean

Ok...I called my agent at VTG, and she was more than willing to get me my 140.00 OBC, HOWEVER...since Carnival upgraded me to Inside on Empress, with a queen instead of the upper lower bunks on Riviera or Main deck, I would probably be put back into that catagory cabin, so I passed on the OBC. I did  ask for some wine and champagne since what I booked is now 70.00PP cheaper, guess what???? I am getting a couple free bottles of Red wine and a bottle champagne and keeping the cabin I've been assigned. Proof it does pay to call and ask. I'm glad I asked for the wine (somewhere on one of the boards I read that someone else did that), same cabin on the Empress, but free alcohol, I'll take that!!!Big Smile

Re: Roll Call 10/19-10/26 VALOR, Eastern Caribbean

Hi Y'all! Ok since I live here in Fla. we have tropical updates every hour on TV. There is a tropical wave in the central Atlantic that is starting to get some rotation to it,Hmm however all the spaghetti models show it going North later this weekYes...But...this could stir up the waters and cause some extra motion. Not trying to be the bearer of bad new, just trying to keep you informed. If you are prone to motion sickness, be preparred and make sure you bring alone, bonnine, dramamine, ear patches (prescription) wrist bands, ginger tablets what ever works for you. After all, it is our Tropical season (June 1 - Dec 1) so any tropical conditions are possible, just be preparred! I'll keep the boards posted as the week progresses. Just remember, that Carnival would never put us in harms way, and heck the western Caribbean looks all clear!

Re: Roll Call 10/19-10/26 VALOR, Eastern Caribbean

Ok I just read up on Nana, and they expect it to fall apart within the next 48 hours. There is a lot of upper level shear that will take place, so I don't see it imposing a problem. Like I said, I think we may deal with some rough seas and maybe some rain. Sorry, I don't mean to sound doom and gloom, but it is the tropics during hurricane season and that is what happens when you live here....but I think we will be fine. Typical tropical weather...no hurricane it's all good!!! Keep the DOD's comingDrinks
