    SeaTrek Helmet Diving

Has anyone done the SeaTrek Helmet Diving out of Cozumel?  Is it worth the money?  Is it appropriate for a 12 year old?

I was wondering about this excursion also. I will have a 10 and 14 year old with me.  I was wanting to know how long this excursion lasts and if we would still have time to go to Paradise Beach afterward.  Also does this excursion go out on a boat, or from shore.  Thanks!

I was also wondering if anyone has had a good experience with the sea treking. I have already booked it for Dec. 23. I am hopeing that it will be fun. We get into port at 7:30 and leave at 4. And the sea treking is form 9-11. Does anyone know of anything we could do in the afternoon. Thanks!

Sea Trek is mostly from shore as it is just walking on the sea floor, at least this is the case in Cozumel, i recommend much more the underwater scooter or mini sub tour in Cozumel, it is by boat and you are touring the actual reefs with a scooter and your head is in a helmet...lots of fun!

Somewhere here on the Carnival Connections is a link to the Carnival You-Tube site.  You can find a video of each excursion at that site.

Do you get to touch the fish and feed them?  or does the scooter scare them away?

    Re: SeaTrek Helmet Diving

We just got back from Cozumel and did the Sea Trek helmet dive.  My 11y/o son and I did the dive and it was wonderful.  It was just us and the guide and we walked out to the pier after a quick lesson and walked down the ladder to the sea floor.  Our guide fed the fish and taught us how to "catch" them.  It was great for my son who was very much a beginner.  Afterwards, he took us and my 8 yr old daughter on a snorke tour.  There were about 8 other people on the snorkle tour.  By the time we finished the swim with the dolphins, sea trek and snorkeling, it was about 4 hours.  Hope that helps!
