    Hawaii?

Out of curiousity, is Carnival considering a Hawaiian cruise that just cruises around the islands like NCL has?

The reason I ask, is that I was on an NCL ship last year, and LOVED the itinerary but hated the cruise line. The whole "Freestyle" cruising is a big crock in my opinion and thought it would be great if Carnival "The Fun Ship" had the same cruise but with the "The Fun Ship" persona.

I know you currently have cruise ships that cruise to Hawaii, but I'm not to fond of the at Sea Days and flying into one port and flying out of another... because that is expensive.

Thank you in advance for your response.

I believe that Carnival, or any other cruise line, would have to re-flag their vessel as a US ship and also comply with all US labor laws for the crew in order to do that.  That is what NCL had to do.  There is a federal law, (the Jones Act, if I'm not mistaken) that says foreign carriers cannot sail between two US ports without going to a foreign port, or something like that.  That is why cruises from the mainland to Hawaii sail from Canada or Mexico.  That is also why Caribbean cruises sailing from the US always sail to a foreign port first.  I hope that helps and I hope I'm not too far of base with that.

Agreed; that is our understanding of why things are the way they are as well..................

I also agree about NCL; we cruised on the ole Norway and after she had her horrible accident, we no longer sailed that line.
