VICTORY - October 20, 2008 from CHARLESTON - Roll Call!

My sweetie and I will be joining y'all in October! I've cruised several times before, but it will be his first. We're from southern NC and since he's afraid of flying, driving to Charleston made a cruise possible for us (no way was I driving to Florida!). We both love fishing so I've booked us on the fishing trip for Wednesday. If you're up for an adventure, I highly, highly recommend for Thursday an out-island excursion from Nassau that I've taken several times -Power Boat Adventures. It's not cruise affiliated as far as I can tell and you take a taxi down to their departure point, but it is the ideallic setting for a day in paradise. They have a website with videos at powerboatadventures.com. It's pricey at around $175 per person, but this is such a great day trip that I save my pennies and do this excursion every time I'm in Nassau!

We're in an oceanview cabin on the Riviera deck in the front section -- 194 days to go!

I'll be aboard for my Honeymoon! This will be my second cruise and his first! Can't wait! We are from western NC and will be driving to Charleston.. about a 3 hour drive from where we live. I agree definitely better than driving to Florida! We booked an inside guarantee (cheapest room we could ;-) ), so i'm excited to see if we get upgraded to a higher deck. Have you ever been on Carnival Victory before? The last time i cruised it was with RCCL, so its all new to me..

I'm not sure when we'll be allowed to board, hopefully it is earlier than 7pm! Does anyone know when we should receive our cruise documents in the mail? I'm thinking it should be soon.

Here is the site for the port in Charleston SC and provides you with all the information you could ever asked for: http://www.port-of-charleston.com/cruises/documents/EMBARKATION_CARNIVAL_VICTORY_OCT20-OCT25_2008.pdf

My sisters and I are taking our mom for her 70th birthday.  We are from Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.  Easy drive to Charleston.  We won't be leaving Greenville, SC until around 3 p.m.  How late can you board?

Re: VICTORY - October 20, 2008 from CHARLESTON - Roll Call!

This is 'my' 2nd cruise & our (me/hubby) 2nd cruise on the Victory.  We took the same cruise out of Chas. May 2007.  I had never been on a cruise before & really wasn't sure about the trip, but we had a great time.  The ship is very nice, clean, and the staff is fabulous.  My only requirement for going on a cruise again was to go with another couple or other people that we know, so when we found out some friends of ours were taking this cruise, we jumped at the chance to cruise out of Chas on the Victory again. Looking forward to 5 relaxing days & I hope you all have a wonderful trip as well!

**both cruises were "new mom" gifts from my hubby.  We cruised last May when my now 2.5 y/o was 1 and this time we have a 6 mo. old.  If you sit near me at the pool, I'll probably be the one going on and on about my sweet girls & tearing up over missing them.....unless I've had a few cocktails!!! : )
