We are on the Conquest Feb. 1, 2009 and can not wait.  It will be my 3rd cruise.  I am going with my 3 sisters.  No husbands or kids this time.

 We are also on Conquest May 31, 2009 for 7 days to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. My 36 year old daughter will be going and this will be her first cruise.  Mimi 

We cruise Dec 21, 2008, on the Victory , from San Jaun, taking the S. Carribean route.  Just got our stateroom assigned!  72 days and counting!

We are first-time cruisers and are going on February 7, 2009, on the Glory for the Western Caribbean route and 'stay' on the ship for the Eastern Caribbean starting on February 14, 2009. This date will be my husbands 60. birthday. I am so excited about the cruise.

Wow!  Doing a back to back (B2B) for your first cruise; that's what I call cruising LARGE!  Hoppy BIrsday to hubby, too!

Thanks for your good wishes to my husband. We are from Germany and we are used to travel to USA every year for a family vacation (at least 2 weeks) and now our sons are grown-up so we decided to try a cruise. The other option was 1 week cruise + 1 week Florida. But we were in Florida May this year so I wanted to experience the Glory for 2 weeks. And flying so long for only one week doesn't make sense. Have a nice weekend!

What a fabulous story!   We took our first cruise in 1999, not sure if we'd like it or not.  Well, ummmm......we've since taken over 20 cruises!   As a first timer, I would recommend you bring a power strip (only one outlet in the cabin unless you're in a suite), pack half the clothes and twice the money; pack a good attitude and you'll have a wonderful time!  Did you know you can pre-order cabin decorations for Hubby's birthday ?  Or maybe a birthday cake to be delivered at dinner on that special day?   There are a couple of options. 

I hope you both enjoy your 1st cruise. May your husband have a wonderful birthday. I took my daughter on her 1st cruise in Nov. 2006  cruising the Exotic Western Caribbean aboard the Legend, she was turning 16  that December 7. I had the stateroom decorated with banners, a dozen long stemmed roses and a Happy Birthday (chocolate) cake was delivered later that day. I had her open the door to the room ( balcony room) and there were banners, balloons, flowers in the vase right there....she was so surprised she started crying. They did a great job decorating, and I think it cost me about $90 all total. Best money I ever spent. We are booked on the Nov. 6 Transatlantic Cruise aboard the Freedom, she will be turning 18 this December 7 ( my birthday is December 6) and she graduated from high school (starts college Feb. 09) so I am trying to come up with something for her, maybe you can think of something for me. Not to worry the trip itself will be great, we are going to Rome a couple of days early, maybe I can decorate a pizza or something.

Thank you to both of you. Reading your little stories gave me a very warm feeling. That's why we love to travel to USA - it is for the people and for the landscape...

Oh, I read so much about the cruise and started to make a list like the power strip or a bungee cords (balcony door) and lots more. I printed sth from seauonboard. I have already found the information for decorating the cabin + chocolate cake + champagne.

I can imagine how lucky your daughter was with that beautiful decoration! My younger son became 18 this june. He will graduate next year in May and will start with university in October next year. At that time my elder one will finish his study. So life is always very interesting I will think about your birthday suprise for you daughter.  But I am not good with decorating. But perhaps you will find s.th. in Rome that is a memory to the Rome trip.  And your birthday is the day before - I would love to help you with a good idea! But I am sure you will enjoy the trip!

Hi I cruise in exactly 1 week!!! We sail Oct 19 on the Valor out of Miami. Visiting Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten!!  Can't believe that we are down to a week now...DH and I are getting ready to go say Bon Voyage, to the Legend at the Port of Tampa right now. That sounds silly I know, but it has become a ritual for us. We always drive to Port or Tampa the week before we are sailing to see the Carnival ship in Port, kind of gets us really excited that last week before we sail!

Bon Voyage on your upcoming cruise.  We will be sailing on the Emerald Princess on October 21st for 10 days and will be looking forward to our 50-day cruise on Carnival's Splendor which will sail from Florida going down and around South America, then up to Mexico and ending in San Francisco.  The only down-side that I can see (so far) is that the Splendor is reported to having only (3) laundry rooms (eek!!!)

We just got off the Triumph on 9/21 before she went to dry dock.  Our next cruise is a family cruise, fianally with my Mom to Nassau and Freeport on the Sensation.  Can't wait.  I think I belong at sea on a cruise ship.  I'm beginning to really dislike not being on a cruise ship.
