Hi Tom, We are from Connecticut, south of Hartford. I would like to find out more about the monkey head club everyone is talking about on this site. Sounds like a nice group who all have something in common.the love of cruising. We are currently taking friends who never been on a cruise and didnt want to upgrade, so we didnt want to leave them for they depend on us to be with them thru the cruise. I am very nervous about being inside with no window lol...Oh my god , but hopefully it will go ok. As I said before, we have always had a balcony , but the price on this cruise was too hard not to take . I couldnt resist the extra  vacation. Really looking forward to the sea days . They are the best part of cruising. The islands are just an extra benefit. Hope to meet up with you and yours...Debbie

    Tom and all,

We're getting ready. I 've pretty well planned what we're bringing. Luckily we're driving to New York so I don't have to worry about airline luggage costs! Thanks for the door sign site.

Re: Roll Call -- Sept 6th Outta Manhattan

    Hi All!

My name is Cat and I am from southeastern CT. My husband and I (as well as 6 others in our bunch) are sailing on the Miracle with ya all. My father and stepmother cruised on her last year and loved it. This will be my third cruise, my parents eighth cruise, my best friend, her husband, my brother, his wife - their first cruise (I'm hoping they become addicted like the rest of us). We are all very excited! We did a round of shopping at one of the local department stores (I always have to remind myself not to bring too much) this morning for the cruise. Now is definetly the time to get those deals on clothing!

We are not booking an excursion on Puerto Rico because we have been there before and I think I'm going to take advantage of the special in-port rates for the spa. On St. Thomas we are going to do the Atlantis Submarine and the Paradise Sky Ride. On Grand Turk we are going to the beach and do a little snorkeling. My best friend, her husband, my brother and his wife have rented the dune buggy's and my dad and stepmom are going to take the Guana loop bus.

My husband is in Virginia for the summer working for Electric Boat and just had to call me at 3AM this morning to chat about the cruise because he is so excited!

I look forward to talking with you all! Happy packing!

Re: Roll Call -- Sept 6th Outta Manhattan

    Hello Everyone,

Well , Another blunder by the travel Company I booked with. First , I heard about the port change from this site , not them. I guess that worked out for the best. But second of all, we booked with them not only was the price good, but they promised transportation for a minimal price. They would put a bus together and bring us back and forth by bus. Traveling in NY ,even traveling on 95, is a nightmare , so they sold us. Now they call and say all backed out , so they did not get a bus. I just hope this is not coming attractions for this coming trip. We have been so excited , and than there has been such bad communication it want to scream. I alway book directly with the cruise lines so this was a new thing for me. I just wanted to share and see how other people going to this port are getting there . We have always left either out of fla or La and this is a new port for us. We finally called and got a private limo, to the tune of 500 round trip. We'll that's ok, but the reason we booked out of ny mainly was to save on air fare. lol Guess the laugh was on me.  Oh Well , still looking forward to meeting everyone and hope that no one is going thru this with their travel agency . Never again. I just cant trust anyone to do my travel plans again. 33 more days YaHoooo   Debbie (aka) travel Girl

Re: Roll Call -- Sept 6th Outta Manhattan

I always book everything thru Carnival, That way if anything goes wrong I can resolve it with them. I have had nightmare experiences dealing with travel agencies and I won't deal with them for anything anymore. Carnival booked our flights plus transportation to the ship, etc. We had a blast.

This cruise we're driving to NewYork and parking for the week. It's easier than flying and then getting transportation. Hope it all works out for you.
