    Carnival Celebration

My fiance and I went on the Key West and Nassau cruise departing from Jacksonville in December 2006.  It was the most romantic thing we ever did.  The crew was great, food unbelievably great, shows were alot of fun...We enjoyed everything.  He booked another cruise for us...same cruise, same ship....for December 2007.  Unfortunately he died in October 2007.  My vacation planner encouraged me to go ahead on the cruise.  She gave me information on having a ceremony on board to scatter his ashes...Lisa Byer...She was terrific.  So I took my niece with me for support and scattered Jon's ashes, at the place that was most special to us,  at sea.  The ship's crew were so kind and supportive of me and what I was going through.  I will never forget how nice everyone on the ship was.  I hope I can go on another cruise someday.  The Celebration is now or soon will be docked for renovations.  I have only praise for the ship and it's crew.

Jeane, I just read your post. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you to follow through with your plans after losing your Jon. It sounds like it was as special ( in it's own way) as your first cruise was. I hope you continue to heal and have a wonderful and happy future that includes lots more cruises.  We'll be cruising on the Celebration 3/31 -4/5. visiting Key West and Nassau.  I'll think of you and say a little prayer for you and Jon while we are at sea.

Thank you so very much for your comments and consideration about my experience.  It is still difficult dealing with the loss of Jon, but God's grace will get me through.  I really wish I was able to go on another cruise right now.  It really is a tonic and good medicine.  Thank you for your prayers and caring.  Have a wonderful time on the Celebration.  I'm sure it will be fabulous!.  God bless you, you really gave me a boost with your comments.  Thanks.

Jeane, May god bless you and has already blessed Jon and continues to do so. May he also bless your Agent that suggested that you take the cruise. I could not imagine your sorrow :(  .  Your post though does bring to light 1 thing. With all the negative post's I have read about Carnival cruises, it is refreshing to read that they were able and accomidating with your request. Let me explain....

We sailed on the Celebration in 1990 for our honeymoon. 2 years ago (2006) I surprised my wife by booking a cruise on the Triumph that did the same exact itenerary we had done for our honeymoon and it left on our 16 year anniversary. I had purchased a "Renewal Of Vows" package onboard and invited 2 friends we had met on the Grand Princess 2 years prior...They agreed to come and "Stand-Up" for us. The ceremony was great, The Captain performed the ceremony and they provided us with a cake, hour'derves and pictures from throughout the ship.

I won't go into more detail but I'm sure you get the message. I have been on 7 cruises (5 of which were with Carnival) and am working on #8 for this year. Carnival is my 1st choice when looking into cruises. May God and Jon continue to watch over you.
