    Long Beach Departure Port

Hi all ,                                                                                                                  We're leaving from Long Beach  for 4 day Baja cruise on Paradise in April .  This  will be the first time we've cruised from this port . We're flying in to L.A. same day  around 2 p.m. and need to know if  port is within walking distance to " Queen Mary Hotel " . Also does anyone know if we can  check in , board , and leave the ship again to do the Q.M. Hotel tour ? Shame to travel so far and not see it .As you can see "time is of the essence.

     Thanks in advance .

    J. and J.

    Hi,

We just came back from a cruise on the Pride, which was docked next to the Queen Mary. Check in for us was in the entrance to the Queen and then we got in line infront of the dome. I hope you left enough time to get from the airport to the ship as everyone was to be on board by 3:30PM for our cruise. I doubt if you will have time to tour her. Have a nice cruise!

    Thanks Jean

That's essentially what I needed to know . I figured the dock was close to Q.M. but couldn't figure it out having never been there . What's the dome you mentioned .?     Josie.

Josie, the dome is the area that you go through to go through security and they check your US documents for boarding the ship. This is also where you will pick up your luggage after the cruise is over. Have a nice trip, My family has been on that one and you will have a good time.

Fyi, The dome is where the Spruce Goose used to be located.  We have done the Ensanada cruise several times and have always enjoyed it.  If you haven't selected a shore excursion yet may I suggest the Wine Tasting Tour.

Yes, the wine country tour in Ensanada was great when my wife and I went a couple of years ago, best thing is, you get free wine and see some great countryside.
