If you want to try snorkelling (awe, go ahead - it's FUN!!) I would recommend the Yal-Ku Lagoon and Sea Turtle Sanctuary. You'll get to snorkel for around 45 minutes in the fresh water lagoon, then travel by van to the sea turtle sanctuary which is a bay on the coast. There, you can snorkel for another hour and then spend another hour or so eating/drinking/both in the beachside cantina. Or, if you don't want to get back in the water there, you can just hang out on the beach (there are chairs, shade, etc.) while others snorkel. The guides are AWESOME!! Carlos actually goes in the water with you and carries a waterproof book of fish pictures which he uses to point out the different fish you're seeing. I've been on other snorkel excursions where they just take you out in a boat, dump you in the water for 30 minutes then call you back in and head back to the beach. This is DEFINITELY more than that!! We absolutely loved this excursion. Also, there's a few little tables of souvenirs set up at the beach stop so you can pick up a few things before you get back to the overpriced stuff at the pier.
