    Civitavecchia debarkation

I would like to know a realistic time for debarkation when the Freedom gets to Civitavecchia so that I can schedule a train reservation from there to Venice.  Also, how can I get from the port to the train station. thanks

    Hi

There is a  free shuttle bus from the ship to the town .. a walk to the train station would take about 5 mins ...from where you depart the bus...

also ther are taxi's waiting at the port . would cost about 10 Euro [ that's the price they were last April to the ship...  the cost to Termini  Station is 11 Euro... alway's remember to valid all train tickets .. as the conductors will try and hit you with fines...

    Hello.

I also need some info for the Civitavecchia cruise. Do you buy the train ticket at the station on the same day or do you get it ahead of time from the USA?. It appears that it is more than 11 Euros if bought ahead of time. Also I would like to know if trains do operate on Sundays from Civitavecchia to Rome (Termini), since the Freedom arrives on a Sunday?.

    Thanks for your info.

    Daniel.

I got my tickets from italiarail.com, and they are for Sunday on the 9:22 am train. I checked the price against the trenitalia web site and they weren't much more expensive from italiarail.

Thank you for the info. I tried to buy the train tickets through "italiarail.com" and I was not able to do so with more than 60 days in advance, how did you do it?.  Unless your cruise is sooner than mine in Aug 26th.  Also, do you think that 1 hr and 22 min. is enough time to catch the 09:22 train?  Once again, thanks.

     Daniel.

It is now only 40 days until May 10, well within the 60 day period, or does your cruise leave on Aug 26 as  vs. Apr. 26?  I was also told by Carnival that the ship docks at 6 AM so there will be no problem catching the 9:22 train, and possibly one earlier.

Hello Arnie. Once again, thanks for the info. I will use the train and I'll book the trips once I am within 60 days of my Aug. 26 cruise. Enjoy your trip.

    Daniel.
