Anyone going on the 7 days cruise?? This will be my first cruise! Celebrating an old college roommate’s 30th B-Day. Any suggestions for a first timer? Do's and don'ts...tips on extra things to pack?

 LOOOTS of sunscreen and suntan lotion haha, aside from that on a 7 day cruise you will have two formal nights, so you may bring something sexy ;) bring an umbrella just in case because you never know. Especially since most of you guys are first timers you might have to bring some tablets for sea sickness, JUUUST in case because you dont know how your body will take it, even if you dont feel the boat (and you wont for the MOST part because it is huge. Umm what else, do bring a few warm clothes like fleaces, cardigans, and track pants or jeans, although it is the caribbean but the boat is moving and in the evening may be a little on the cooler side. I know thats what Im bringing. All the shore tours you may purchase either online or at the excursion desk on the ship. Cell phones DO work on board just not all lol, forget about bringing a laptop you are there to relax (TRUST ME I saw someone bring one, my friend and i looked at eachother in a weird way in response to that) and the last thing is ENJOY IT, you guys have it even better than us as your first cruise, thats a great advantage to go on a new and gigantic floating resort as your first time cruise :)

 My family and I will be on this cruise.  This is my 8th cruise with carnival. The one thing I can suggest to bring is a Multi plug, there is only one plug in the rooms and if you have any items that need to have electricity, you will be thankful for this tip!

Pack light! You will want to buy alot of unique things when you're down there, the Caribbean and all the islands you visit will each have their own unique artifacts, clothes, souveneirs, etc.  So take advantage of the CHEAP merchandise down there as well... so pack light :D Mix a few of the clothes you bring (bring alot of browns, black and white clothes, so they all mix with one another and you can wear them several times)

 Thts true,Cruise_Princess, when we go on cruises, you don't pack light at all.  Now's the time to start learning from me and my fancy pancy Fashion Arts Degree!

 Mix your clothes! Best tip you can ever have.  Afterall, who cares if you've worn the same top 2-3 times onboard.  When you mix it, it will always look like a different outfit.  besides... you'll mostly be in your bathing suit anyway soaking up the sun....

 Ladies.... I don't know about all of you, but I just can't wait to go.  I think I'm wishing my summer away, waiting to go on this wonderful new ship.  the 150 days just can't go fast enough. 

I agree. i can't wait for summer to be over....each day that goes by brings us 1 day closer to1/3/09

I just found this site and it is so much fun!  We are going on this cruise and cannot wait!  We have a group of 40 people or so, so I am sure you will see one of us!

 40 People Wow, are you Celebrating something special?  Is this your first time crusing?.....shoot I can't wait....under 100 days left.  just can't go fast enough LOL.  Hope to see you there.

 Within the 40 people that are coming, are there any in their mid-20s or early 30s that want to hang out? My friend and I are going and we're both 24 and want to hang out with others and plan excursions and such with others like us and make new friends :)

We go cruising together every two years.  This is my second Carnival cruise and I am so anxious for the day to come when I am standing on the Lido deck!

I love love love going dancing, so maybe we could meet at one of the clubs one night!  If there is a talent show, I am planning on entering.  I did it last time we cruised and had so much fun!

Oh you and me both! I'm going with my best friend and we've gone together on two other cruises and all we do is hang out at the clubs/bars! I mean, ya gotta make the best of your vacation, right?! hehe.  We can totally meet up, I'm already meeting up with some others that I've met on here who are are going on the Splendor cruise during this time.  Besides,  the party's better in numbers, right? I cannot wait!!! Cruising is my passion!

 Also, if you like dancing, they also offer dance lessons a couple of times in the week by a trained performer for one of the shows.  I've taken Hip hop and Cha Cha dancing while on cruises (bare in mind, they're very basic steps because, obviously some people are mainly beginner) but these one-hour dance classes are always a blast and bonus: a great workout at that too! You should join us!
