Just talked to someone at Vacation Rewards.. New name for Carnival Vacation Club. They are doing away with the club..Carnival/ICE as this person called it owns the new one too..You cannot believe some of the stuff this person was trying to sell..Oh man.. I think Carnival should get their name off anything that has to do with this ICE company..I will lose some of my money but at this point I do not care..You do not have to buy points like CVC sold but pay almost 1,000 bucks  for 5 years to get some of the services they offered through CVC..Some of the the things that were told to me was like the credit card offerings they offered you.. Staying away now.. We were lucky and did not have any issues with the CVC..TG!!!

We joined on the conquest .. Christmas day 2005 ... it's been a big mistake. I will NEVER buy into any kind of vacation club again. We have felt ripped since the first time we tried to use the club. Forget about the private cocktail parties, that never happened except for during the cruise where we bought into the CVC. I have been unable to use the resort certificates, we travel alot through the year and through 5 states repeatedly, yet nothing is ever available where we are going. This has been extremely frustrating,  we are so ready to be done with it all. We still have to book one more cruise through them before our points are all used up. Can you believe that tonight I was informed that there is a now a booking fee? I will have to PAY additional fees to book through them, and yet I MUST book through them to utilize the points I have ALREADY paid for. The only positive thing is that the phone operators at CVC are very nice and as helpful as possible.

You took the words right out of my mouth, looks like have had the exact same experience. We have been on 7 cruises(all carnival), but only 2 of those we used our points. We also have aroung 4000pts we haven't used and they are worthless now. Its ashame because we were maried in 2001 on a carnival cruise & we have enjoyed all of them. What makes us upset is all the facts were not brought to our attention on remaining points.

Guess we were some of the lucky ones.  My sister and I and our husbands joined in March of 2005 on the Conquest.  We paid our $800+ deposit for the Bronze level.  Sometime around July we both paid our 2nd payments.  Then along comes Katrina.  Needless to say, we called CVC, explained our circumtances, and received a refund of every dollar we had paid so far within 10 days of our first phone call.

We bought our CVC package in June 2006..I pulled out the book this week to extend before the 3 years was up.  Today I received a phone call from the new Rewards/ICE people telling me that my contract was ALREADY up...I had no idea it was 35 months (it is in the book though, so I guess thats my fault) and we have only used 8k of our 20k points and none of our resort certificates.  I'm pretty sick about it.  Knowing that its ICE, I'm not sure that there is anything we can do about it...

They are offering to comp us quite a bit in the 'new' program - 5*200 in cash rewards, 150k vacation rewards points, but I just dont see how that will ever be something I recoup if I sign an 8 yr/ 1500$ contract with these people again...Soooo disgusted!

If anyone has ever fought getting your expired contract extended and WON, please post and let us know!  Our contract expired on May 9th apparently...I was planning to extend for 2 years now.

We had to sue Carnival Cruise Lines to get our money back.  We were successful in the suit.

Kudos for doing something about it. I'd like to know more details of the lawsuit like the reason for it and how much you got back versus what you had to pay the lawyer who handled it.  I hate to take things lying down and a lawsuit may be the only way to get their attention.

Give it up. I bought the time share from them while on the conquest on 2006. I sent the payment for an extension and basically was ripped off. I have been unable to use thea money or the timeshare and basically they have taken the money and have negotiated anything with me. They are declining my extension and want me to pay more money into a so-called new and better program after losing $3500. This is a horrible company and we have all been SCAMMED.

I joined the Vacation Club in August 2006 while on the Miracle.  The timeshare (points) was a contract with specific benefits to be used by a specific deadline.  I used the points for 3 completely paid for cruises, used the one week free resort stay within the first year, as required, and used two of the three resort certificates.  The Vacation Club did a good job for me and I felt that I got my monies worth.  Since 2006, I have taken six additional cruises.  All of them were booked through the Carnival Vacation Club without problems.

    Re: carnival vacation club

I am fighting with CVC right now ( or carnival rewards as they are called now).  They are the biggest scam artists.  All they want is more and more money. I had to pay $299 to extend my contract because I was told it was for 3 years but it was only 35 months.  Then they called me and told me that the new plan was good for 5 years and you got more certificates which is now good for money off of future cruises.   Best price guarantee, the whole works.  It also included the two rooms on cruises any time I wanted on any cruise.  I had 20,000 points.  When I looked online on Carnival vacation club site I wanted two 8K balcony rooms (higher up balcony)  When I called them they told me sorry, They had only one 8C room and one 7A obstructed room. They told me it is unavailable through Carnival.  I had Carnival website in front of me and they had plenty of rooms available.  The told me that it was not live. The rooms were not available.  He told me he would call Carnival and get back to me. 2 hours later he called back and said yes they are available but it will cost us $200 more per person.

The new rewards does not give you the same rooms that you paid for originally.  The money you paid for in the beginning  does not count for anything anymore.  Then the manager called me back and told me if you want those rooms go back to the old Carnival Vacation club and forget all the new benefits we were going to give you.

I know that  this is not Carnival cruise line but when I bought it on a ship it was inferred that it was run by Carnival.. I am sorry that this will be my last cruise on Carnival because of this club and that Carnival is getting a bad reputation because of it.
