    Costa Maya itineray change

Just noticed that Carnival has completely taken Costa Maya off of the itinerary for my cruise April, 5-12 onboard the Glory and given us an extra day at sea.  Also, Costa Maya has been replaced by Roatan Island starting with May 2008 Glory Western Carribean sailings and Nassau has been replaced with Freeport.  Just a heads up to everyone.  It might be a good idea to for anyone who is cruising the region to take a peak at their itineray in their reservation section to see if there is a change listed.  I guess you can't beat Mother Nature if you need a change in your schedule, huh?  Oh well, still 185 days to go, so something else may change before then.

    Re: Costa Maya itineray change

Ok, I'm feeling a bit dumb asking this question, but I am booked on a Feb 2009 itinerary on Glory.  Carnival's site says we're stopping in Costa Maya.  Other online sites say we're stopping in Honduras.  I can call Carnival and ask the question, but of course they will say what their website says.  If I call any of those other MAJOR sites, they will tell me what their website says.

Has anyone been on the Glory itinerary lately and can you tell me of it is stopping in Costa Maya or is it stopping in Honduras?

I'm sure they are leaving themselves open to decide whether to go to Costa Maya or not once the cruise port there opens back up. I was on the Legend just a couple of weeks after Hurricane Dean wiped out Costa Maya and we were rerouted to Honduras. Personally, Honduras is so far and away ABOVE Costa Maya. One of the best ports out of all the ones I've been to. Don't worry, no matter where you go, you are going to have a great time! Enjoy your cruise

    Happy Sailing!!

    Re: Costa Maya itineray change

We were in Costa Maya two weeks before the Hurricane on our first cruise. I saw the pictures and they were heart breaking.  I understand that they have rebuilt and will be ready to take cruise ships in the fall.  My wife has already said were going back as soon as its back on the schedule to see how they recovered.  So keep looking for the cruise to Costa Maya to come back. Maybe we'll see you there.

Everything I have seen says Costa Maya will be ready in the 4th qtr of 2008.  I know my January '09 cruise shows Costa Maya.
