cave tubing and zipping Belize port

We were on the Carnival cruise to the caribbean. We booked the zip line and tubing with http://www.actionboysbelize.bravehost.com there were 41 of us in our group. We were met at the terminal as promised by Donald. We boarded the bus and headed to the zip line. Turtle was the driver and Donald, Saul, Roberto, and Edward were our tour guides. Donald was our lead tour guide. He was silent while the other tour guides did their presentations on the Belizean history. After a while Donald was handed the mic. The other tour guides had shared a lot with us and i wondered what else was there to say. Donald started with the ethnicity of Belize and went into Indian History. Donald was very detailed with his presentations. He displayed a deep passion for his job.
When we got to the zip line there was a line, and Donald said, as I quote " Don't allow the line to be your problem, just follow me. " And he lead us all the way to the front of the line and we were attended to immediately. The zip line lasted around 40 minutes. After the zip line we started our hike through the rain forest to the caves. Donald and Roberto were doing presentations on medicinal plants. They also mentioned the significance of the cave to the maya.
The water in the caves was refreshing. At a point Donald instructed us to turn off our head lamps. This was just to show us how dark the caves were. After the tubing we had lunch at the jungle resort. It was rice, beans, and chicken, and it was good too. After all this We were heading back to the City. We made a stop at the Belize Zoo for a tour. Donald offered it free of cost, all we needed to do was pay our entrance fees. The most attractive animal in the zoo was the baby jaguar. There is also one of the largest eagle in the world on display ( the HARPY EAGLE ). The tour of the zoo lasted for 35 minutes. We were taken back to the terminal to board our tender one hour, 17 minutes before our last tender left. This was the best experience for this year's cruise. I am thanful to the ACTION BOYS for giving the group such great time.
Donald and Roberto were the most instrumental on the tour. As Donald mentioned, the other tour guides that were on the tour were for safety of the kids. They were well organized and very professional.
If you see Donald, Please thank him for giving me a free tour as the group leader.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND " ACTION BOYS BELIZE "

Thanks for the great info, but how was the zipline? Was it difficult to do? We have a group that wants to go but unsure if everyone can do it. Thanks for any info.

    Hi guys,

you are very helpful sharing your experiences with us. My family will be cruising with a stop in Belize in late  September. We have booked a combination of the Baboon Sanctuary and Altun Ha with Don. If you were to visit his website ( http://www.actionboysbelize.bravehost.com ) you will notice that he is offering the same tours that are sold on the ship at a lower rate. I rather to do a private tour instead of booking through the cruise line. This way we get to see more .

"We spent the last week on the Legend and one of our ports was Belize City, Belize. We spent the entire day with Donald of ZIP LINE BELIZE ( http://www.actionboysbelize.bravehost.com ). he met us at the dock and escorted us everywhere and we were amazed as we bypassed the long, long lines of our fellow ship passengers. The organized cruise excursions only had time for one adventure due to the long lines and time constraints of so many people on big buses....in fact, several times we overheard people grumbling and asking why we were getting to go past them....however, there were 6 of us in our own minivan and following a city tour we first went to the Belize Aerial Trek and ziplined thru the rainforest canopy with great guides, excellent equipment and it was fun, fun, fun! Next, we went around the corner to Jaguar Paw Resort and tubed thru 3 cave systems and saw amazing caverns with bats, stalactites, etc. Again, we had 2 guides (Donald was one of our guides) that stayed with just the 6 of us whereas the cruise excursions had 35-40 people and only 2 guides....they couldn't seem to keep up with their people and looked completely disorganized. The cruise excursions had lunch under a shed while we were escorted inside the Jaguar Paw Resort restaurant for a terrific lunch and a tour of the resort including the resident howler monkey who looked in the window while we ate(he dropped down out of a tree about 4 inches from my nose when we walked outside and I wanted to touch him but Donald said no....his bite could be ferocious), the butterfly farm, pool, cabanas and just amazing tropical rainforest flora and fauna!!!! Following lunch we went to the Belize Zoo for up close (I mean way, way up close)views of Belizean wildlife including howler and spider monkeys, jaguars, macaws and so much more. Then Donald escorted us downtown for shopping at a Belizean grocery store (Donald recommended several items) and a souvenir shop. They kept a constant watch on our time so that we wouldn't miss the boat and were so warm and friendly. Donald pointed out many things and gave us the history of Belize as we drove thru both Belize City and the countryside. You could never find a better tourguide anywhere! Thank you Donald for a wonderful time and we hope to see you both again!"

Just to mention that they offer all the tours that are sold on the ship at a cheaper rate.

    ruins of altun ha

My family and friends were on the Legend. We did the maya ruins with Don. He was indeed a great tour guide to spend the day with. He was at  terminal # 1 as he promised.  We boarded his van and we drove through the country side to the ruins. As Don drove the van he narrated the history of his people to us. It was very interesting.  The ruins were the best I have seen. The kids love it a lot. What We love about doing the tour through Don was that he was very flexible. He gave us the options to add other activities to our day, stopped for lunch, and shopping. This was surely far more than what we would get if booked through the ship.

Don's services were great and WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. He also offer all the tours sold on the ship. So if you don't want to be in a bus with a large group, Don is the best private tour guide to book with. Hiis email: actionboysbelize@yahoo.com

They have recently started to do this combo with kids below the age of 10. They are the best in Belize.

Just return home from the Western Caribbean Cruise. We did the Ruins Of Altun Ha with this company. Our tour guide was Robert. He was very good in Maya History, Medicinal Plants, and the culture of Belize.

We Highly Recommend them for a great time in Belize!
