Is this the Raiders of the Lost Mayan Caves excursion?

We are hoping to get on this one.

Thanks for the insight. I'll wait for Carnival to post a tour.

hello, in response to the person who said that most likely many of the posts/reviews wer e"unsolicited" or advertisements by personnel or owners of various tourist operations.....I hope that is not true.  You will see I am an active member on this site and I have posted reviews, both good and bad, of my experiences with independent, non carnival excursion companies/ tour guides.  Some were great, others were not horrible, but I wouldn't do them again.

I agree that sometimes it is obvious that posts are "Fakes"----but don't discredit every post!  I take time to write posts for other cruisers about my experiences and hope they won't be disregarded just because a few people are not doing the right thing.

Anyway, I guess all we can all do is, do our homework.  I hear that cruise critic is a good website, but the best bet, in my opinion, is to check with your travel agent.  Ours said www.shoretrips.com was a good website, and we did find some good independent tours at Grand Cayman through the site.

Altun ha ruins and belize city tour

My family is in love with Action Boys Belize . We really enjoyed the Altun Hu excursion. I am posting parts of my review that I saved. My boyfriend and I want to go back to Belize City and Livingston , Guatemala for a land vacation. We are in 100% agreement that the only tour company we will use for excursions is Action Boys Belize .

Donald Ramirez was our guide. He made our tour so fascinating. Al l 10 of us walked away feeling pleased and happy.

Mr. Ramirez not only gave us great details about the site, but also showed us many plants and their medicinal uses and how the Mayans used them in their everyday lives. We not only received a detailed history of the past culture, but a detailed account of present day life for Mayans and the rest of the Belizean community. I got the sense that Donald takes great pride in his community and people and his enthusiasm is catching. He also seems to really love history, which was great for us tourists. At one point during the walk around the site, I overheard a wife say to her husband, "That guy is waaaayyyy more interesting than our tour guide" and they proceeded to tag along with us for awhile!

We rode in an air conditioned, comfortable van. One member of our party had a little too much fun the night before..........We had to pull over at one point, so he could get rid of that little extra fun. Donald quickly found a store after that, ran in, and came back out with something to help settle his stomach. Within 15 minutes, he was feeling fine!

I also appreciated how safety conscious he was. Not just for our group either. You can go up to the top of a temple. There is a staircase provided on the side with a wooden railing. DO NOT USE THIS RAILING. Donald pointed out how flimsy it was and should not have any weight put on it. I almost made it to the top, but my left knee bega n to bother me, so I chose to go back down. Not one other tour guide (and quite frankly, most of them didn't even go to the top with their groups) warned their people about the railing.

Donald is a great  tour guide and we love him. He is the best!

Re: Altun ha ruins and belize city tour

My husband and I recently went on a tour of the Mayan ruins and cave tubing with www.actionboysbelize.com  when our cruise stopped in Belize. We had an AMAZING time and Donald such a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. He made us feel so welcome and even with a good amount of time in the car traveling to the sites he kept things interesting and fun telling us all about Belize. It was a small group and all felt very personal which we really appreciated. We saw so many huge buses with tons of people going through these attractions, but Donald knew when to be there to avoid the crowds and with our small group we got to do exactly what we wanted to do. He is the best in the caves - you can tell he knows it all and that you're in great hands.

    Great service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: zip line cave tubing belize

This was the most memorable excursion of our cruise vacation. The "boys" were professional, informative, fun, and our zip lining/cave tubing experience was phenomenal. We finished the day with a great lunch at the Jaguar Paw jungle canopy. I would highly recommend booking this prior to your cruise. You won't be disappointed. It was well worth the $ and fairly inexpensive as opposed to other excursions. We have booked other excursions with our cruiseline and were highly disappointed. Action Boys Belize is awesome, thanks for the memories....
