Happy 2008! Now that just about everyone is back at work and school, we’re ready to share more tales of living the splendid life. And what better way to kick 2008 off than with a new advertising campaign encouraging people to “Let the Fun Begin” by discovering a world where fun has no age limit, splashing is allowed and adult time-outs are a good thing.

Our new campaign truly captures the Carnival essence of creating fun, memorable and quality cruise vacations. And, because we’re so sure you’ll love the new commercials we’re warning you that you’ll be singing that tune all day! So, watch the first of our three new television commercials and witness how we brought the magic of a Carnival Cruise to life! Although the commercial doesn’t “officially” launch until primetime tonight, we’re giving you a sneak peak on www.carnival.com/promo/tv. Let us know what you think!

And, for those of you wanting to watch on the big screen (well at least as big your TV screen) just ask and I’ll post a list of air times for this week.

We all know that the best things in life aren’t really things…They’re experiences, people, places and fun. Carnival Cruise Lines was founded on this exact belief, that’s why we celebrate all things fun, every day. But, we realize that just enjoyable as these experiences are; it’s more fun when you share with family and friends. And, that’s what this blog is all about.

The big wigs at Carnival decided to pack all the best things life has to offer: delicious cuisine, luxurious spas, a wide variety of entertainment and quality time with loved ones all aboard our “Fun Ships” (especially the spectacular, upcoming arrival to our fleet, the Carnival Splendor). So, we figure what better way to prepare for the Splendor’s inaugural sailing than by coupling a preview of this splendid ship’s amenities with the splendid stories of the people we love the most- our guests!

Each week the blog will focus on a different “Splendid” topic. Members of the Carnival staff - both onboard and shore side – will discuss various topics. We’ll also highlight one guest story a week and will include a special page so you can share your story with us. Naturally, photos will be included and readers are always encouraged to comment and submit photos of their own onboard splendid moments. So what are you waiting for?
