Hi Jessica,

I was on the Coffee Break webinar today it was very informative.

I just booked a sailing on the Imagination 12/8/08 and it gave me an option of 11/21/08. I have been booking Carnival for a very long time so I was smart enough to call Carnival general reservation and asked if it expires today at 11pm. Well, the answer was no and it only gave it a 6 hour hold. Nowhere on the Agent or Client confirmation list any time and I am sure Carnival will have lots of problems with agents booking online and get the wrong information and loose the booking because the booking cancelled after 6 hours.

Jessica, was a confirmation redesign part of this project?! WOW! I absolutely hate the new format. First of all, it needs to all fit on one page. The text is too wide, so it goes beyond the right and left margins or the page. Secondly, there's so much wasted "fluff." The graphic header has to go. This confirmation may be fine for only the HTML version, but we need a pdf attachment that is just the bare bones reservation details for the file. It's just way too much. Also, why did the payment time due get left off. I have had a number of reservations CANCEL today because I missed the deadline. Even the booking engine is missing any correct date/time due. This is a major issue is bookings are cancelling because of incomplete confirmations.

Also, I was told that the rates screen told me the fare rules for each rate code. WHERE?! The res agent said I could click on the fare code and bring up all the rules (that he said I should have known before booking the cabin). Where exactly are we supposed to find these?

I realize this is a work in progress, however we just CAN'T lose bookings over these little "speed bumps."

HELP!!!

Hi Randy! This is actually how it worked before we redesigned the booking engine. (It isn't a new requirement.) The best way I can explain it is as follows: Sometimes when you misspell a word, spell check may not pick up on it. (Like spelling "were" when you meant "where" for example.)

It's the same theory with our group booking numbers. You may enter a booking number and it may bring up a valid booking, but it might not be the one that you were looking for. By entering these additional fields, we are making sure that you are actually accessing the correct booking that was intended. It's just a simple verification measure!

Hi Dolores, with the newly redesigned booking engine, you can print the confirmation page. If you have an "image writer" set up on your printer features, you can save it as an image to your computer and send it via your email account at a later time.

Bookings are usually "on hold" until the option date, which is the deposit due date. If deposit amount is not received, it is cancelled.

The payment option is jumping from credit card number to address to name on credit card and back to the address-teh new system needs too much info than just zip code...

Complicated, complicated, complicated. Screen size is off. Hard to select cruises abd pricing. What happened to the NCF incl and additional tax, fuel surcharge etc.

Another new issue I discovered yesterday. Tried to make deposits to two different credit cards, but the clients were not splitting the amount equally and I could not change the amount of the deposit being charged to each card. System is auto filling the amounts. Also could not do one card at a time because again the full deposit amount is auto filled for the amount. I do alot of groups and also have reduced deposits being paid at times and again this auto fill issues eliminates my using Book CCL to apply deposits. Please fix this one soon. Thanks.

The old version was a lot more user friendly. There is a lot of room for error in the current format because you can only view about 2 lines at a time instaed of being able to view the entire booking. All of the manual scrolling takes forever. Need to be able to search for bookings by name like we used to. So far, not good.
