Webinar Questions & Answers: July 2008

Here are most of the questions, along with their responses, from our July 2008 webinar. There are still a few that I am responding to and I'll make sure to add them to this post later on.

Thank you for your patience as I compiled this list together. We received an overwhelming response and I needed a little help... So, I also want to thank James for helping me out with the responses!

Please feel free to suggest topics for our September 2008 webinar. We are currently putting it together for you and want to know what you want us to include. You can submit them using our Virtual Suggestions Box.  I look forward to reading your ideas!

Next up on my schedule of events is THETRADESHOW in September. I know it's been a while since I've attended a show, so I can't wait to go and see all of you again! (As usual, I'll have my camera with me. So be ready to strike your best pose!)

I tried to create a promo flyer for a November 22, 2009 sailing of the Glory but that itinerary is not listed since the ship is being repositioned to sail out of Miami instead of Port Canaveral. When will this be updated?

We are currently working on resolving this issue.

Being relatively new to the travel industry, I would welcome a relatively basic seminar on CCL bookings and tools.

Welcome to the travel industry. It is truly a great industry to be a part of. Product training is usually conducted by your Business Development Manager. You can contact Business Development Services to request this service. They will help you coordinate with the Business Development Manager assigned to your area.

Could you please make your group detail summaries into individual bookings? I have some great news for you: We are currently working on redesigning our confirmations. The new confirmations will provide you with detailed information that will better meet your needs.

Can we get the codes and seminar info emailed after the seminar concludes? Our rate codes are accessible via BookCCL.com. Simply click on the rate code you would like to learn more about. A pop-up window will appear with information that explains the promotion and a description column that identifies the rate code as well.

Are there any limitations on the size and format of logo that can be imported into BookCCL.com for use with the AdWizard? Good question! Please make sure the logo you choose to upload is under 250KB.

Do you have special rates for corporate groups? Our Group Sales department will be happy to assist you. Please contact them at 1-800-327-5782.

Jessica, when I meet with a Corporate Leader for the sale of a meeting at sea, will the BDM be at my side for questions that may be asked by the Corporate Leader? This is something that can possibly be arranged. I would definitely contact Business Development Services first in order to coordinate your meeting with your Business Development Manager. Make sure to let them know of your special request ahead of time.

Where can I find the fare codes description on the website? You can view the rate codes in BookCCL.com.  There is a link under each rate code that explains the promotion and a description column that identifies the rate code as well.

Will there be facility to insert additional information, such as amenities offered? This is a great idea for our upcoming projects. I’ll make sure to mention it.

Will you ever have the pdf's available for email rather than just printing? You can easily save the pdf file and then attach it to an email. You may find this method a bit more convenient.

I noticed that the DP rate code was higher than the other codes in comparison. Why would Carnival charge a returning customer more? Since I don’t have a specific sail date to look at, I can only guess that perhaps the Past Guest promotion may have been sold out for the lower categories. This would cause other rates to show up, possibly higher.  It could also be showing the higher rate as it applies to the higher categories.

Jessica, why can we not access the military promotion on BookCCL? Military promotional rates are available online by simply logging on to www.BookCCL.com. Once you are logged in, select the “Sales Tools” menu then click on the link titled “Specials.”  This will open a page with a list of different promotional rates we offer. On the right hand side, under the title “Fun Promotions,” you will see a link titled “Military Specials.” You can view the military rates in a PDF format by clicking on that link.
