Carnival Cruise Lines is launching an extensive stateroom recategorization encompassing the entire “Fun Ship” fleet. The Carnival Valor is the first ship to feature the new accommodation categories. These changes will be effective for all new bookings on Friday, August 15. For those of you with existing reservations, please note that cabin assignments and pricing on existing reservations will not be affected.
Carnival’s accommodations will now be categorized based on a variety of location factors as a result of these stateroom reclassifications. Guests can now choose staterooms that best meet their needs, whether their preference is mid-ship, aft or forward. They can also choose a stateroom based on it’s proximity to key public areas and specific decks.
Our goal with this change is to more clearly define our stateroom categories based on location and features. We believe it will enable guests to easily identify the category that best suits their specific needs and preferences.
You’re probably asking “What’s in it for ME?” My response is simple: Upsell!!! Now there is a greater variety of stateroom categories and more affordable pricing gaps between categories, creating great new up-selling opportunities for you. Update as of 08/28/08:
Effective Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, all staterooms on our four other 110,000-ton Conquest-class ships - Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory and Carnival Liberty - will be reclassified. The balance of the Carnival fleet is scheduled for completion by the end of 2008. Stateroom assignments and pricing on existing reservations will not be affected.
