I, too, am working my groups online.  However, I have posted a deposit on one of these bookings, and it's been 48 hours and that deposit is not posted online, nor at Carnival.  This happened to another agent in our company, so she called the credit card in.....3 days later, the internet payment posted in addition to the called in deposit, thus double-charging the passenger.  How can I be certain my client will not be double charged?

During the presentation Tues 22Apr, there was frequent mention of "powerbookccl.com"  how does this differ from "bookccl.com"?  Is there now - or will be in the future - a different URL for access?

Hi John,

BookCCL.com is the name of the website where you can find valuable resources, one of those resources is our booking engine: PowerBookCCL. PowerBookCCL is just one of the many online resources we offer on our Travel Agent portal. (Not a BookCCL.com member? Click here to register now!

Thanks for joining us today!

Hi Carolyn, I want to begin by apologizing for the delayed response. I've been researching this issue and it seems that you may have made these transactions while our credit card processing service was experiencing delays. You should be able to make payments now and see them posted immediately.

Hi Jessica:

After a pretty thorough review of your blog and the links on these pages, I kind of consider the GEC Online Resources page to be a “home” page for the Groups eChannel project.  Is that what it is supposed to be?

Seeing as this rests on a platform that is part blog, and part static web pages,  (including consumer oriented pages) is this the best place from which to start learning about Groups and the eChannel GEC?  The site can be a bit confusing, as links to the right of the page take the user to links that don’t have anything to do with agents & the GEC.

As a host agency, we support hundreds of users for whom we administer access to BookCCL.com - one of the methods from which we manage their individual and group bookings and payments.  I’d like to share this valuable information with those agents, but want to make sure that we’re steering them in the correct direction.

Specifically, are the user manuals and quick reference manuals on these pages always the current versions?  Will documentation updates be posted here, or referenced elsewhere, or only on blog pages?  Do you have a suggestion in which order users should view the manuals?

Blogs are wonderful, but they should compliment and support a well designed website too.

Hi John,

Thanks for visiting the blog and commenting again! I can certainly understand your concern.

The intention of our eSolutions Group blog is to serve as a user support tool. It is hosted on our community server, but exclusive to our travel agent community only. Through GoCCL.com we provide information and resources for our travel partners regarding our various technology projects.

It certainly feels like the blog's focus has been mainly on GEC lately, but it is the current project we are implementing and it is high-impact. I want to make sure that all information I receive that may be useful to our travel agent community is posted, regardless of which system they use to book their Carnival cruises.

It's definitely safe to say that this page has evolved into a "home page" for the GEC project! With all the many posts regarding GEC on this blog, this page serves as a "one stop" location for all up-to-date resources.

Resources related to BookCCL.com users are also provided on BookCCL.com, this is in addition to being posted here already. As we implement this new functionality on other partner systems, they are provided with these same resources to make available to their users. The blog is the only "universal" location for all information and resources, regardless of the system you use.

The user manuals and quick reference manuals on these pages are the current versions. Since I develop these materials, I make sure to post them here as soon as they are updated.

As far as suggestions regarding in which order users should view the manuals, I think it depends on the system you use. If you currently use BookCCL.com, then I personally suggest reviewing the BookCCL Quick Reference Manual first, then viewing the webinar. Once you are done viewing the webinar, take a look at the questions and answers posted from the webinar for additional information.

I really appreciate you taking the time to provide me with this valuable feedback. Have an excellent day!

Ok thanks for the clarification Jessica!!

So the web “home-page” for GEC is at www.bookccl.com/gec.asp

Ah hah -- Now I see it!   Right there after the agent signs into BookCCL.com

(You might want to tell the web-developers/techs to change the page name [not file name].  Currently the page name is “Travel Agents eBrochures” because the web developer copied another page to create the new page.  Click the browser tab, or save to your Favorites  - and you’ll see the misnamed page name and how it is applied to the www.bookccl.com/gec.asp page.)

And the blog “home-page” is www.carnivalconnections.com/.../groups-echannels-project-gec-online-resources.aspx

I think we’ll suggest that our users view the Online Tutorial first, the Online Webinar as reinforcement, and the Webinar Questions and Answers to take care of the Q&A.

They can then read and print the QRM, User Manual and Amadeus Cruise QRM for future reference.  Right?  Great!

Thanks,

John

Thanks John! I refered the title tag issue to the proper department. We hope to resolve it soon!

The online tutorial is a "printable" version of the webinar presentation. James Morant (the presenter) used that same tutorial to present the new GEC enhancements during the webinar.

Speaking of which, don't forget to visit my "But What About TRAINING?!?!?!?!?!?!" post. It has a Training Needs Assessment you can fill out. This information is then sent to James and he will contact you with training opportunities or when he is in your area. Have a great weekend!
