Renditions of a DREAM

At long last, the first in a series of digital renderings of the currently-under-construction CARNIVAL DREAM are here. We've decided to post these now so that you can see just how special this upcoming addition to the "Fun Ship" fleet will be.

This just in! Carnival Dream "Floats Out."

The 130,000-ton Carnival Dream achieved a significant construction milestone when it was “floated out” from its outfitting quay at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. The 3,646-passenger SuperLiner – the largest “Fun Ship” ever constructed – is set to debut in September 2009.  Here are a few of the latest and greatest images of this magnificent ship under construction.

The intial stage of a ship's construction takes place in a dry dock facility called the Fincantieri Shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

The intial construction is complete. Now preparations for her "float out" to a wet dock facility is in the works.

The ship's propellers are complete and ready for the "floating out" process.

Once the exterior outfitting is completed, the dry dock is filled with water and the ship is "floated out" and moved to a wet dock facility where construction continues.
