ELIGIBILITY:
Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are 21 years of age or older and residing in the United States at the time of entry. The following are not eligible: employees, contractors, directors and officers of Carnival Cruise Lines ("Sponsor"), American Movie Classics Company LLC ("AMC"), and each of their respective parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, distributors, web design, advertising, fulfillment, judging and Contest agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Contest (collectively, "Contest Parties"), and the immediate family members of each (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or "step" of each) and those living in their same households (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence for at least three months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the Contest).

CONTEST SCHEDULE:
You may enter the Contest between 12:00:00 am ET on 9/4/06 and 11:59:59 pm ET on 9/30/06 ("Contest Period").

TO ENTER: To enter the
Contest, log on to www.carnivalconnections.com/contest
("Web Site") during the Contest Period and click on
the link for the AMC and Carnival Cruise Lines' You
Cast Your Crew Contest registration and essay
submission page. Follow on-screen directions to
properly complete and submit a registration form. For
your registration to be valid, you must complete all
required information and click on the "I accept"
button on the registration page. When prompted, you
will be asked to answer questions to fill in the
pre-generated introduction of your essay. Once you
have answered the questions you will be requested to
submit an original essay in freestyle form that tells
us why your group deserves to reconnect and what your
plans are for the perfect trip on Carnival Cruise
Lines ("Cruise"). Essays must be between one hundred
fifty (150) and four hundred (400) words, in English
and will be judged on the criteria listed below. The
pre-generated introduction will not be used as part of
the judging process. All entries must be received by
11:59:59 pm ET on 9/30/06. Once submitted, all entries
become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not
be returned. Limit one (1) entry per person, household, and/or email address throughout the Contest Period. Limit one (1) prize per person, household
and/or email address throughout the Contest Period.
The material submitted will be considered the Contest entry ("Entry"). Entries: must be the original work of the entrant; may not have won previous awards; may not have been published previously; must not infringe third-party's rights; must be suitable for publication (i.e., may not be obscene or indecent); must not contain obscene or pornographic material, may not contain defamatory statements, may not invade privacy or other rights of any person, firm or entity, may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations, may not contain any reference to any third party trademarks, names or third party logos (other than as owned by the entrant) and may not contain any copyrighted works (other than as owned by the entrant). All Entries will be reviewed for content before being judged. Entries containing prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate will be disqualified. Sponsor makes the final determination as to what Entries are eligible to take part in this Contest. Submission of an Entry grants Sponsor and its agents the unconditional right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify such Entry in any way, in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration to the entrant, whether or not such submission is selected as a winning Entry. Submission of any Entry further constitutes the entrant's consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to the Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in Entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights and waive all moral rights in Entry..

SELECTION OF WINNERS:
Prize winners to be selected by an independent panel of judges ("Judges") on or about 10/31/06, and will be notified by phone and/or mail ("Winners"). All Winners are subject to verification, including verification of age. If attempted notification is returned as undeliverable, if a Winner cannot be verified, or if a Winner is otherwise unable to accept prize, prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner provided sufficient time remains prior to scheduled prize events.

JUDGING:
Judging criteria ("Judging Criteria") is as follows:
(#1) Appropriateness To Theme - 50% - Write an essay about why your group deserves to reconnect and what your plans are for the perfect trip on Carnival Cruise Lines. Your Entry must closely tie to this theme.
(#2) Originality And Creativity - 30% - Uniqueness and creativity of characters, actions, expressions, emotions, locations and the overall development of the Entry.
(#3) Story Flow - 20% - Your Entry must have good plot organization. The four primary components to include are exposition, complication, climax and resolution.
In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be based on the highest score in the first Judging Criteria, continuing thereafter to each Judging Criteria in order, as needed to break the tie. Entrants agree that the Judges have the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this Contest and that all decisions are final and binding. Winners, by acceptance of the prize, agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor and Contest Parties, as well as each of their respective parent and affiliated companies, and each of their employees, representatives, contractors, advertisers and sponsor from any and all liability, loss, damage, cost or claim related to any allegation regarding the acceptance or use of their prize, including but not limited to attendance on the Grand Prize Cruise.

ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE:
One (1) Grand prize ("Grand Prize") is available which is a trip on Carnival Cruise Lines for a verified winner ("Grand Prize Winner") and up to nineteen (19) verified travel guests ("Guests"). Grand Prize consists of Grand Prize Winner's choice of a three (3), four (4), five (5), six (6) or seven (7) day Caribbean Cruise from a list of location/date options provided by Sponsor; up to five (5) cabins (category 6A, based on quad occupancy); meals and snacks (except Supper Club and alcohol); shipboard entertainment and scheduled activities (all rooms and activities to be determined by Sponsor). Approximate retail value ("ARV") of Grand Prize is up to: $15,000. Grand Prize does not include airfare, ground transfers, Cruise related government fees and taxes, hotel, gratuities, shore excursions or onboard purchases of a personal nature. NO TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM PORT CITY WILL BE PROVIDED. All expenses not specifically stated are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner. Actual retail value of Grand Prize will vary depending on Grand Prize Winner and Guests point of travel origin, duration of the Cruise and seasonal rates. Grand Prize Winner is responsible for any applicable fees, service charges, surcharges or passenger facility charges, and all insurance, federal, state and local taxes, if any, and gratuities, incidentals and any other unspecified expenses associated with acceptance or use of the Grand Prize. Grand Prize is provided "as is" and without any warranty of any kind. Carnival's Vacation Guarantee shall not apply to the Grand Prize. All terms and conditions of Carnival Cruise Lines' Standard Ticket Contract of Passage, as well as those stated in the General Information of Carnival's brochure, shall be applicable to the Grand Prize. Ships' Registry: Panama and The Bahamas. Grand Prize Winner and Guests must travel on same itinerary. Grand Prize Winner and/or Guest's participation in any or all activities on the Grand Prize Cruise is voluntary. In the event that the Grand Prize Winner and/or Guest elect(s) not to participate in any or all designated activities on Grand Prize Cruise, Grand Prize Winner will be afforded no additional compensation in exchange therefore.
TEN (10) SECOND PRIZES: each Second prize ("Second Prize") consists of a Carnival Cruise Line/AMC gift basket. Each basket includes a portable DVD player, and Carnival Cruise Lines and AMC merchandise. ARV of each basket is: $150.
TOTAL ARV OF ALL PRIZES IN CONTEST IS: $16,500.

General Conditions:
Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for any taxes on the Grand Prize, and will receive an IRS Form 1099 for the ARV of the prize. No cash equivalent or substitution of prize is offered, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Grand Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and has no cash value. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and Sponsors Privacy Policy (available at
www.carnivalconnections.com) which are final and binding in all respects. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. Grand Prize Winner will be notified by phone and/or mail and will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within thirty (30) days of attempted notification or Grand Prize may be forfeited. Second Prizes will be shipped within 10-12 weeks of end of Contest Period. If a prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with another prize of equal or greater value. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, modify or terminate the Contest. This Contest is offered only in the United States and is governed by the laws of the state of Florida, with venue in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and all claims must be resolved in the federal or state courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Limitations of Liability and Release:
All online entrants must have a valid e-mail address. No liability or responsibility is assumed by Sponsor or Contest Parties resulting from user's participation in or attempt to participate in the Contest or download any information in connection with participating in the Contest. No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsor or Contest Parties for technical problems or technical malfunction arising in connection with any of the following occurrences which may affect the operation of the Contest: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, hosts or providers; garbled, jumbled or faulty data transmissions; failure of any e-mail transmissions to be sent to or received; lost, late, delayed or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Web Site in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestions on the Internet or the Web Site; unauthorized human or non-human intervention of the operation of the Contest, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any aspect of the Contest, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility or unavailability of an Account used in connection with the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Web Site. Use of Web Site is at user's own risk. Sponsor and the Contest Parties are not responsible for any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind which may be sustained to user's or any other person's computer equipment resulting from participation in the Contest, use of the Web Site or the download of any information from the Web Site. By participating in the Contest, the entrant thereby releases Sponsor and Contest Parties from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such entrant's participation in the Contest. By accepting a prize in the Contest and/or attending the Grand Prize Cruise, Winners agree that the Sponsor and Contest Parties shall not be liable for any loss or injury resulting from participation in the Contest, acceptance or use of any prize, or attendance at any event arising under or relating to the Contest, including the Grand Prize Cruise, or any travel related thereto. Sponsor and Contest Parties are not liable in the event that any portion of the Contest or the Grand Prize is cancelled due to weather, fire, strike, acts of war or terrorism, or any other condition beyond their control (a "Force Majeure Event"). Should a Force Majeure Event occur, Sponsor may, but is not obligated to, exercise commercially reasonable efforts to reschedule the cancelled Grand Prize Cruise.

TRAVEL TERMS:
All travel must be completed within the following time periods: 1/1/07 through 3/31/07 or 9/1/07 through 12/15/07, or Grand Prize will be forfeited. Blackout dates and other restrictions may apply. Not valid for travel on holiday sailings including Christmas and New Year's. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability. Winner must notify Sponsor of desired dates of travel no later than thirty (30) days prior to intended date of departure. Sponsor does not guarantee the Grand Prize will be available on the exact dates requested by Grand Prize Winner. If Grand Prize Winner is unable to confirm an itinerary by this date, Grand Prize will be forfeited. Grand Prize is subject to availability and certain other restrictions, which are subject to change in the sole discretion of Sponsor. Grand Prize Winner's Guests will be required to execute and return a liability/publicity release (which must also be signed by the parent/legal guardian of the Guests under the age of 21) prior to travel. Guests under the age of 21 are required to travel: (i) in the same stateroom with an individual 25 years of age or older; (ii) in the same stateroom with their spouse; or (iii) with a parent or legal guardian in an accompanying stateroom. Grand Prize Winner and Guests must travel together on the same itinerary, including the same departure date, destination and return date. No stopovers are permitted on tickets issued as a Grand Prize; if a stopover occurs, the Grand Prize will terminate at the stopover point and full fare will be charged for the remaining segments, including the return, of the Grand Prize. Sponsor is not liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of any travel cancellation or travel delay. Ship's schedule subject to change without notice. All travelers must possess any travel documents required by law.

USE OF DATA:
Sponsor will be collecting personal data about participants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. By participating in the Contest, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy.
